The Valdezcaray ski resort takes place at its base. On the other hand, at the Gatón peak the Oja river is born. It gives its name to this land and to the OGGA wine. Etymologically, “river covered with leaves”, “cold land” or “land of bread”. Evolved from the old Romance, and documented since the 11th century, OGGA comes from Rivus (Rio) and Ogia. It designated the region watered by the Oja and Tirón rivers.
