1. Behind the scenes at Jandri: engineering secrets at high altitude
This winter, the resort of Les Deux Alpes invites you to enjoy one of its most exclusive experiences: a behind-the-scenes look at the brand new Jandri cable car, a technological marvel and symbol of the modernisation of the ski area.
For an hour, accompanied by the SATA 2 Alpes technical team, you will enter areas that are normally off-limits to the general public: the engine room and the safety devices used to ensure a smooth and sustainable ascent to the glacier. But this tour is not limited to the technical aspects: it allows you to relive the stages of the construction project, understand the challenges posed by altitude, wind and extreme conditions, and above all, appreciate the scale of modern alpine engineering.
Designed for children (aged 12 and over) and adults, as well as mountain enthusiasts, this activity transforms a simple ski lift ride into a real scientific and human adventure. You’ll come away with a whole new perspective on the area.
Practical information: every Tuesday at 2 p.m.: €15 /person (ages 12 and up – max. 15 people – reservations until 4 p.m. the day before).

2. The ice cave at 3,400 metres: a magical immersion in the heart of the glacier m: a magical immersion in the heart of the glacier
As soon as you cross the threshold of this unique cave, carved out in the heart of the high-altitude domain of Les 2 Alpes, silence envelops you. Here, at an altitude of 3,400 metres, winter becomes a temporary museum, a timeless space shaped by the hands of two passionate mountain guides.
Every winter, the ice cave is reborn in a new form, with monumental hand-crafted sculptures, meticulously detailed and bathed in colourful lighting that awakens the imagination. Fantastic animals, mythological figures and nods to alpine nature – every corner is a visual surprise. For children, it is a life-size fairy tale. For adults, it is a rare sensory and artistic interlude, between frozen poetry and artisanal performance.
This visit is a must for families, as it is fun, beautiful and accessible without any special equipment. It raises awareness among young and old alike of the fragile beauty of the glacial world, while offering a spectacular photographic playground.

Practical tip: Get your cameras ready! This cave is undoubtedly the most magical place to capture on camera in the entire ski area.
3. On board a snow groomer: following in the footsteps of the heroes of the night
When the sun goes down and the slopes empty, another life begins in Les 2 Alpes: that of the snow groomers, the discreet professionals who sculpt the terrain every night for the skiers of the next day. Thanks to this rare and immersive activity, you have the opportunity to climb aboard a snow groomer and share an extraordinary experience.
Sitting next to the driver, you will climb steep slopes (during the day), feel the power of the engine, discover the role of the winches and observe the almost artistic precision of the blade movements. The experience is as impressive as it is educational: you will discover behind the scenes of snow grooming, the on-board technology and the human expertise required to shape each slope.
For children and teenagers, it’s a dream come true: climbing into a giant machine and conquering the mountain in a whole new way. For parents, it’s a unique opportunity to understand the behind-the-scenes jobs that are often overlooked but essential to the magic of skiing.

Practical information: €49 per person: Wednesdays and Thursdays (depending on the period). 30-minute sessions (1 to 2 people). Ski pass or pedestrian pass required. Booking essential.

Skiers and pedestrians settle comfortably into the Le 3200 restaurant, perched facing the horizon. There, a sweet and savoury aperitif is served, warming hearts and bodies in a cosy and exclusive atmosphere.
It is a moment suspended in time when the mountain empties, when silence gently descends, when you feel privileged, parent and child united in the same bubble of emotion. The experience ends with a safe descent by cable car, your head still filled with light and stars.

It is also a great tool for sharing your holidays instantly. Once the photo has been taken, it can be retrieved via your package.

6. Secrets of the funicular railway: travelling back in time
Long before modern cable cars, the glacier funicular railway was the mechanical heart of the Les 2 Alpes ski area. With the “Secrets of the Funicular” experience, the resort offers an immersive journey into Alpine history, providing valuable insight into how this area became one of the top French skiing destinations.
At the crack of dawn, you will set off with an enthusiastic guide from the Jandri base for a guided climb to an altitude of 3,400 metres. Throughout the journey, the story comes to life: little-known anecdotes, archival documents, technical developments and human achievements punctuate this climb to the peaks.
Children (aged 8 and above) can have fun discovering the behind-the-scenes workings of this iconic mode of transport, while their parents can immerse themselves in the major milestones of local history. And as a nod to the past, the view from the top completes the experience.

Practical information: Thursdays during the Christmas and February holidays: €22/person, ages 8 and up, groups of up to 15 people (tour in French only).
7. The snow workshop: behind the scenes of a snowflake
Behind every perfectly groomed slope lies invisible expertise, high-precision logistics and eco-friendly technology. The Atelier de la Neige invites you to lift the veil on this often little-known world with an educational and captivating tour that is ideal for the whole family.
At the top of the Belle Étoile telemix lift, visitors can access a dedicated area where artificial snow holds no secrets. Accompanied by experts in the field, they can discover how artificial snowflakes are created, what the ideal conditions are for their production, and also the environmental, technical and safety issues surrounding this precious resource.
This activity is a hit with children and adults alike: the youngest marvel at the machines and snow guns, while parents appreciate the transparency and educational value of a subject that is often poorly understood.

Practical information: Wednesdays at 3 p.m. (during holidays): €15 /person, ages 8 and up, groups limited to 15 people (tour in French only).
8. First tracks: when the mountain is yours to explore first
This is undoubtedly the most exclusive and exhilarating experience in the entire 2 Alpes area. With Premières Traces, the mountain awakens just for you, before the hustle and bustle, before the crowds, in an almost sacred silence. This early morning outing is a rare privilege: be the first to leave your tracks in the snow, experience the mountain as few others do, in the company of those who know it best. The ski patrollers share their routine with you, their role in safety and marking the slopes, and show you their almost intimate connection with this territory.
And to round off this exclusive interlude, you will share a convivial breakfast at the Chalet de la Toura at 2,600 metres, with the feeling of having experienced a moment suspended in time.

Practical information: duration 2 hours, small group activity, ski pass required, minimum level required: 3rd star (red run). Snack included at the Chalet de la Toura.
9. Night skiing in Vallée Blanche: après-ski that shines
In Les 2 Alpes, skiing continues under the stars thanks to night-time sessions on the Vallée Blanche slope. Once night falls, the slopes are gently illuminated, revealing another side of the mountain, more intimate, almost magical.
New this winter: the opening of a floodlit green run, complementing the legendary red run. This initiative now allows skiers of all levels, including beginners and children, to enjoy night skiing in complete safety.
It’s the perfect family activity, ideal for ending a day of skiing on a different note, friendly and out of the ordinary. Young and old alike can enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, filled with laughter, skiing and wonder. And the best part? This experience is included in your day pass, available at no extra cost.

Practical information: every Wednesday, access with a day pass. Floodlit green and red slopes, peaceful and secure atmosphere.
10. Two new carpets at 2,600 metres
This season, Les 2 Alpes has focused on families by completely redesigning one of the key areas of the resort: the transition zone between the Jandri midway station and the Toura sector. The result? The installation of two ultra-modern conveyor belts, which are wide, fast and fully integrated into the landscape, to simplify mobility at 2,600 metres.
No more complicated trips with children or sports breaks between two lifts. These carpets greatly facilitate access to the slopes, beginner areas and the mountain restaurant, offering a real breath of comfort and autonomy to all types of skiers, as well as pedestrians. This redevelopment is accompanied by a complete reconfiguration of the space, with the dismantling of the old Jandri Express station, which now offers a completely unobstructed view of the mountains. The area has become a real family hub, perfect for getting together, taking photos, taking a breather or quietly acclimatising to the altitude.
