Switzerland | Región: Lake Geneva Region

In the heart of the canton of Vaud, overlooking Lake Geneva and the Mont Blanc massif, the Villars-Gryon resort offers an elegant, family-friendly alpine skiing experience with panoramic views. It is part of the Villars-Gryon-Les Diablerets ski area, one of the most comprehensive in French-speaking Switzerland, with approximately 100 km of slopes between 1,200 and 2,125 meters above sea level.

A large and varied ski area

The Villars-Gryon ski area is directly connected to Les Diablerets and Glacier 3000, allowing you to ski from fir forests to high-mountain glaciers.

The main ski area, accessible from the center of Villars by the Roc d’Orsay gondola lift or from Gryon by the Barboleuse cable car, offers wide, modern, and perfectly groomed slopes.

Intermediate and advanced skiers particularly enjoy the red runs of Chaux Ronde, Petit Chamossaire, and Les Bouquetins, while beginners have specific learning areas in Villars and Gryon, with magic carpets, guaranteed snow, and instructors from the Swiss Ski School.

In addition, a mountain train (the historic BVB Train) connects the village directly to the slopes, creating an authentically Swiss and sustainable experience.

A family-friendly and elegant resort

Villars is synonymous with family skiing in Swiss style. It is one of the few destinations that combines luxury and serenity, with high-end accommodation, international schools, and a loyal clientele from Switzerland, France, and the United Kingdom.

The Swiss Ski School in Villars (founded in 1932) offers exemplary teaching programs for children and adults, with multilingual instructors and protected areas.

The atmosphere in the village is both welcoming and refined: boutiques, cafes, spas, and gourmet restaurants coexist with traditional chalets.

A connected and sustainable resort

Villars-Gryon is fully integrated into the Swiss rail system, allowing visitors to reach the village center by train from Lausanne or Geneva. From Aigle station, a mountain train takes you directly to Villars in 40 minutes, without the need for a car.

The destination is committed to environmentally friendly mobility: free public transport for visitors, use of renewable energy, and “Family Destination” certification from the Swiss Tourism Federation.

Four seasons, one alpine lifestyle

Villars-Gryon is a true four-season resort. In summer, the slopes become scenic hiking and mountain biking trails, with access to Col de Bretaye, Solalex, and La Berneuse. It is also a leading destination for alpine golf, with one of the highest courses in Europe (at 1,660 m).

Winter is characterized by a bright, family-friendly and peaceful atmosphere, where each day of skiing ends with a hot chocolate in front of the Alps. In spring, its sunny exposure makes it an ideal destination for the last descents of the season.

In short, Villars-Gryon combines the best of the Swiss Alps: accessibility, elegance, sustainability, and quality skiing, in an environment that exudes authenticity and balance.
