In the heart of the Swiss Valais, facing some of the most majestic peaks in the Alps—the Dent Blanche, the Matterhorn, and Mont Blanc—the Thyon 4 Vallées resort offers an accessible, family-friendly, and spectacular alpine experience. Located between 1,400 and 2,400 meters above sea level, it is part of the legendary 4 Vallées ski area, the largest in Switzerland, with over 410 km of interconnected slopes.

A family-friendly domain with direct access to Switzerland’s largest ski area
Thyon is the eastern gateway to the 4 Vallées and a privileged starting point for accessing Verbier, Veysonnaz, Nendaz, and La Tzoumaz with a single ski pass. From here, you can enjoy the tranquility of a small-scale resort without sacrificing the breadth of the country’s most prestigious domain.
The local area of Thyon has 55 km of its own slopes, perfectly oriented and equipped with snow cannons, guaranteeing constant coverage throughout the season. The terrain is varied: from wide carving slopes in the Les Collons sector to technical descents connecting to Veysonnaz or the high altitudes of Eteygeon.
Ideal for families, beginners, and young riders
Thyon has developed a strong family and educational focus. The CentralPark Thyon Snowpark, located in the Les Collons sector, is one of the most complete in Valais, with lines adapted for all levels (beginners, medium, and pro) and modules that are renewed each season. It also has a skicross slope, children’s circuits, and learning areas accessible from the village.
The atmosphere is relaxed and safe, making Thyon a particularly popular destination for families with children and groups of young people who want to enjoy the snow in a more relaxed environment than Verbier or Nendaz, but just as well connected.
Guaranteed snow and panoramic views
Thanks to its average altitude and favorable slope orientation, Thyon maintains excellent snow quality from December to April. From the summit of Mont Rouge (2,464 m), the views over the Val d’Hérens, the Matterhorn, and the Dent Blanche are simply breathtaking.
The domain also benefits from a network of modern gondola lifts and a direct connection to Veysonnaz, providing access to the famous l’Ours descent, a former FIS World Cup run considered one of the most iconic in the Valais.
A four-season destination
Beyond winter, Thyon remains bustling with activity throughout the year. In summer, hiking and mountain biking trails crisscross the Hérens Valley, with marked routes to the traditional villages of Hérémence, Les Masses, and Dixence, home to the highest dam in Europe.
In winter, off-piste activities include snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and scenic walks. The resort retains an authentic local feel, with small hotels, chalets, family restaurants, and traditional Valais events.
Easy access and competitive lift passes
Thyon is only 25 minutes from Sion, the capital of Valais, with well-maintained roads and direct access by public transport (train to Sion + bus to Les Collons). The 4 Vallées lift pass is available in daily or weekly formats, with dynamic pricing and advance discounts (Snowpass 4 Vallées Online).
