Sustainable development of the Vail ski resort

Managing the health and resilience of forests and habitats requires sound, long-term planning for critical mountain environments.

TO PROTECT THE BEAUTIFUL ENVIRONMENTS IN WHICH WE OPERATE, THE RESORT IS COMMITTED TO

Minimize or eliminate the impact of any future resort development.
Plant or restore one acre of forest for every acre of forest displaced by THE activities, with the goal of improving species and age diversity, resulting in healthier and more resilient forests.
Continue and expand THE current partnership and funding commitments to local organisations focused on forest health, habitat and wildlife. In 2016, for example, over $1 million was contributed to 50 environmental stewardship projects through direct grants, the guest donation initiative and the 1% for Forests pledge, made in partnership with the National Forest Foundation and The Nature Conservancy.
