They have 187 groomed slopes, spread over 2,900 acres of snow-capped mountains. The resort’s areas are divided into 5 “Peaks”, where all kinds of skiers and snowboarders will find their ideal zone to enjoy the snow with long sunny days thanks to its southern orientation.

Breckenridge Peak 6 is a real treat for intermediate skiers and snowboarders. It has detachable 6-passenger chairlifts, such as the Zendo and Kensho SuperChair, with magnificient views of the “White River National Forest backcountry. Its slopes are wide and moderately steep, offering great conditions on heavy snowfall days due to the orientation of this area.
If you carry your hiking gear or don’t mind shouldering your skis, look for access to
extreme double diamond slopes such as Beyond Bowl, Serenity Bowl and the Six Senses. On Peak 9, you’ll also find a great challenge on the Windows piste. If you’re still craving thrills, steep slopes and heavy snow drifts, then head to Peak 10.
An early morning climb in the Beaver Run chair will ensure spectacular first descents in one of the most beautiful sections of the Breckenridge ski area. Beware of the orientation of its mountains, with much of the area facing south, you’ll need to get up early to find good snow conditions if the day wakes up mild.

Sustainable development of the Breckenridge Ski Resort
Breckenridge began plans to become a sustainable destination in 2011, but it wasn’t until 2019 that they sought international certification.
Since 2011, Breckenridge ski resort has managed to boost some of the most important aspects of sustainable tourism, including culture, by protecting its historic buildings; the economy, by creating childcare and housing programmes for its workers; and the environment, by protecting open space for nature.
Today, the resort produces almost all of its electricity with clean energy, has banned all single-use plastics and is in the process of phasing out gasoline-powered vehicles.
“Breckenridge has long been a leader in environmental stewardship and cultural stewardship,”
said Jessie Burley, the town’s sustainability coordinator.
