Le Queyras

Queyras is primarily the Guil valley and its tributaries, the Cristillan the Aigues and River Arvieux. Entirely located at an altitude above 1,100 m, it has many above 3000 m peaks. It is accessed by narrow and impressive gorges or passes with prestigious names: col de l’Izoard (2,361 m) and Col Agnel (2744 m) we can cross by car in summer, col Lacroix (2 299 m), col Girardin (2699 m) and many others, reserved for walkers.

No wonder then that the Queyras, stayed out the main lines of communications, has preserved more than any other country, its sites, its traditions, its nature and has been promoted to Regional Natural Park.

Queyras has kept alive the traces of its past: typical farms with their fustes and balconies larch arcaded houses, sundials … The bell called “tower of attorney” talking about this not so long ago, where important decisions were made on the village square by the people gathered.

This wondrous protected by the Parc Naturel Regional du Queyras, the wonder is daily. Encounter a deer in the bend of a path, contemplating the flight of the eagle watching groundhogs, discovered a remarkable flora as astragalus this fox tail that comes to us – in what ways? – Central Asia.

“Queyras Espace Montagne” operator alpine areas of Queyras, offers 90km of trails, 30% snowmaking equipped, serviced by 29 lifts. Every night and every day, eight snowcats and up to 130 employees are working hard to prepare and secure areas and welcome you to ensure that your stay is an unforgettable experience. Different webcams allow to see in real time the snow.

To take advantage of all the tracks, service inter-resort shuttle buses throughout the winter season, connecting different villages. Here the slip is genuine and natural areas are preserved. “Queyras Space Mountain, skiing natural”
