The resort village of Morgins, nestled on the French-Swiss frontier in the canton of Valais, encourages visitors to indulge in the many pleasures: gastronomic, aesthetic and sporting – typical of the Swiss Chablais region.

Far from the crowds, yet never alone, as witnessed by the delicate trails that weave through the snowy path, the nibbled pine cones seen here and there and the tantalising warm lights of a mountain refuge in the distance, you are definitely going to enjoy the walks over the white powdery snow with your snowshoes.
If you are quiet and patient, you may be fortunate enough to spot some shy wildlife in their winter habitat.
Lucky or not, you’ll always find a cosy hut where you can enjoy some tasty regional specialities or a steaming cup of something that smells of cinnamon and spices, and maybe even a crackling fire to warm your toes.
Broom into the mysterious winter sport in the Morgins ski resort
At each Winter Olympics, everyone asks the question: what are the rules of curling, this strange sport where you have to throw stones on an ice rink with brooms…
But no, brooms are not used to throw stones!

Also, the fascinating, cute or scary, animals are the stars! In the area, there are some parks that are open to the public with different kinds of flying animal and mammals in the Petite Volerie or even in the Marmot Park among others, which is close to the Morgins ski resort.

Residence Lupins 32
Residence Lupins 32, is a 3.5 room building located in the centre of the resort, next to the ski slopes, with an impressive view on the Dents-du-Midi. Garage.
Located in the attic comprising a double bedroom, a bedroom with bunk beds, a bathroom, a separate toilet, an open plan kitchen, a living room with television as well as balconies to sit back and enjoy the views, be it in summer or winter.
Pets are not allowed and bath and kitchen towels are not provided.
Helvetia Hotel
The Helvetia Hotel with Spa has been opened since 2010 and is nestled at the footsteps of the Morgins ski resort. The warm and friendly staff of Martial and Jane Donnet will be pleased to welcome you. Only 150 metres from the ski domain, a paradise for skiers in winter, and mountain bikers and hikers in summer. The hotel boasts a total of 64 beds, of which 28 rooms, 2 suites and 1 penthouse are fully equipped with kitchen, living room, dining room and a cosy fireplace.
Unwind in the Spa with jacuzzi, hammam and sauna . The ideal place for your meetings and conferences in one of the 2 rooms that seat 20 and 40 people.
There is a covered parking for 15 cars in the premises of the hotel.
Skiing in Morgins: the resort’s strong points
Located in the Val de Morgins, in the heart of the canton of Valais, Morgins is a small Swiss village with an alpine soul and undeniable charm. Despite its size, it is part of one of the largest ski areas in the world: Les Portes du Soleil, a vast territory connecting twelve resorts between Switzerland and France. Thanks to this strategic position, Morgins offers a skiing experience far superior to what you would expect from a resort of its size, combining local authenticity with direct access to over 600 kilometers of slopes.
Morgins’ own ski area is ideal for beginner and intermediate skiers. Its slopes are wide, safe, and very well maintained, with gentle gradients that facilitate learning and progression. In recent years, the resort has modernized part of its infrastructure, including the installation of a new gondola lift that connects the village center with the higher sectors, at an altitude of around 1,850 meters. This improvement has significantly reduced waiting times and allows quick access to the areas with the best snow quality.
The village is located at an altitude of around 1,350 meters, surrounded by forests and meadows, and opens onto a breathtaking landscape overlooking the Dents du Midi massif. From its upper slopes, the horizon merges with the neighboring domains of Champéry, Les Crosets, and Champoussin, all accessible with the Portes du Soleil ski pass. This international connection is one of Morgins’ great attractions: one day you can ski in Switzerland and the next, cross over to France without taking off your skis.
The atmosphere in Morgins is peaceful, family-friendly, and welcoming. There are no large hotel complexes or urban hustle and bustle here: the pace is set by the chimneys of the chalets, the sound of skis on snow, and the aroma of melted cheese in the valley’s restaurants. It is a destination highly valued by families looking for a safe environment for children and by skiers who prioritize the quality of the environment and tranquility.
Beginners have access to the Espace du Géant area, a space specially designed for progressive learning, with gentle slopes and instructors who accompany every step. For more advanced skiers, the domain offers red and black runs at high altitudes, and some areas of virgin snow where you can practice freeriding in good conditions after snowfall.
Snowfall is usually generous throughout the season thanks to the altitude and the north-facing exposure of the valley. The modern and well-distributed ski lifts allow you to make the most of the day, while the afternoon sun bathes the village in a warm glow that invites you to relax and contemplate.
Beyond skiing, Morgins maintains an active and authentic local life. Visitors can enjoy Swiss cuisine with French accents, try fondue or raclette in one of its traditional restaurants, or stroll through its snow-covered streets breathing in the pure air of the Valais. Its proximity to France is also evident in the cultural mix of the valley, where customs, languages, and flavors intersect.
Getting to Morgins is easy, even without a car. From Geneva, you can take the train to Aigle or Troistorrents and continue by bus to the village center. It’s a convenient and efficient connection, perfect for those traveling sustainably.
