Veysonnaz

Switzerland | Región: Valais

Located in the heart of the Swiss Valais, facing the impressive Bernese Alps mountain range, the Veysonnaz resort offers a perfect combination of panoramic skiing, a family atmosphere, and direct access to the 4 Vallées ski area, the largest in Switzerland with over 410 km of interconnected slopes.

Just 20 minutes from Sion, Veysonnaz is one of the most convenient gateways to this legendary ski area, along with Verbier, Nendaz, Thyon, and La Tzoumaz.

High-level skiing with unforgettable views

The local Veysonnaz ski area has 55 km of its own slopes, ranging in altitude from 1,400 to 2,450 meters. Snow conditions are excellent throughout the season, thanks to its northern orientation and an efficient artificial snowmaking system.

The slopes are designed for all levels:

  • Beginners will find gentle areas in Mayens de l’Ours and Thyon 2000.
  • Intermediate skiers can enjoy wide red slopes with views of the Val d’Hérens.
  • More advanced skiers can try the legendary l’Ours slope, one of the most famous in Valais and a regular venue for the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.

From the summit of Mont-Rouge (2,464 m), the panoramic view of the 4,000-meter peaks of Valais—including the Matterhorn and Dent Blanche—is simply spectacular.

A family resort with Swiss spirit

Despite its connection to one of the largest ski areas in Europe, Veysonnaz retains a human scale and a typically Swiss atmosphere. The village combines wooden chalets, small hotels, and apartments with family-friendly services.

The Swiss Ski School in Veysonnaz offers programs for all ages and levels, and children especially enjoy the “Jardin des Neiges,” a safe area for beginners with games and conveyor belts.

The Veysonnaz Snow Sports Club has a long competitive tradition, and the resort regularly organizes events and races for young people, reinforcing its sporting and community atmosphere.

Direct access to the 4 Vallées ski area

With the 4 Vallées ski pass, skiers in Veysonnaz can easily connect to Thyon, Nendaz, La Tzoumaz, and Verbier, forming a continuous 410 km territory.

In just a few minutes, a chairlift takes you to the Printze Sector, which links Veysonnaz with Siviez (Nendaz) and Thyon. From there, there is a direct connection to Verbier.

This access allows you to enjoy descents of more than 2,000 meters of vertical drop, full-day routes, and a diversity of terrain unmatched in Switzerland.

Après-ski and wellness

After a day of skiing, the village offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. There are bars with live music, traditional restaurants, and hotels with wellness and spa areas.

The Magrappe Hotel and the Chalet Royal are two local favorites for those seeking comfort and Valais cuisine.

Four mountain resorts

In summer, Veysonnaz becomes a paradise for hikers and cyclists. More than 300 km of marked trails run along the Bisse de Vex and the alpine pastures surrounding the valley. The main cable car also operates during the summer season, providing easy access to scenic routes and mountain refuges.

The destination is an active participant in the “Family Destination” label and is committed to sustainable tourism, with free public transport for visitors staying in the area and 100% renewable energy in its facilities.
