The Valberg ski area is a real playground for winter sports enthusiasts, whether they are beginners, experienced skiers or experts looking for thrills. It covers 90 kilometres of carefully maintained slopes, offering a wide variety of runs suitable for all levels. There are 56 slopes, and the resort has facilities designed to be shared: a video area, a Big Air Bag, a Family Park, a Snowpark and much more. This harmonious mix allows everyone to progress at their own pace while exploring new panoramas.

Valberg has 23 ski lifts, cleverly distributed throughout the resort to ensure smooth travel. Among them, six modern chairlifts provide quick and comfortable access to the highest points of the resort, significantly reducing waiting times, even during busy periods. Those in a hurry will appreciate the speed and efficiency of the network, which helps to make the skiing experience smoother and more enjoyable.

To guarantee consistent skiing conditions throughout the season, Valberg has invested in a high-performance artificial snowmaking system. More than 400 snow cannons are strategically located to cover 85% of the ski area. Powered solely by water and compressed air, this equipment complies with environmental standards and maintains a uniform layer of snow, even in the least snowy winters. This system offers visitors the security of being able to ski in good conditions from December to spring.

The Valberg ski resort is committed to sustainable development

Since its creation, Valberg has always been committed to the sustainable development of its territory and its activities. This commitment was officially expressed in 2007 with the signing of the National Charter for the Sustainable Development of Mountain Resorts, now called ‘Cimes Durables’ (Sustainable Peaks).

This charter, drawn up by the ANMSM (National Association of Mayors of Mountain Resorts), aims to support and network the signatory resorts so that they can carry out projects that incorporate better social and environmental criteria.

A pioneer in ecology, Valberg is now a benchmark for sustainable mountain tourism.

In 2018, it became the first resort in the Southern Alps to obtain the prestigious Flocon Vert label.

Awarded by the independent association Mountain Riders, it recognises the most advanced Alpine resorts in their ecological transition. This demanding and rigorous label was renewed in 2022 with the award of two snowflakes, proof that Valberg’s commitment continues to grow.

But the effort goes even further: the municipality and tourism stakeholders are working hand in hand to raise awareness among holidaymakers about environmental protection. This includes educational activities, promoting the protected natural landscapes on the edge of the Mercantour Park, facilitating waste sorting throughout the resort, and reducing the visual impact of technical infrastructure.

Among the summer highlights in Valberg, summer tobogganing is a big hit, especially with families. Located on the slopes of Garibeuil, this fun attraction is accessible via a conveyor belt that makes it easy to get back to the top. Two separate tracks offer a variety of experiences: one is designed for beginners and younger children, with a smooth and safe route, while the other offers tighter turns and a faster pace for thrill seekers.

But Valberg has even more to offer: horse riding, electric snowmobile rides, mini golf, a pump track, a skate park, tennis and a tree-top adventure course complete the summer programme. Bulle Camping le Cians

La Burbuja du Cians is definitely an alternative to a hotel, located near Valberg train station. The bubble is not completely transparent, but its dome is. It has no frame, is rounded in shape and is maintained by a fan that creates a continuous flow of air.

The accommodation has water and electricity supply, a laundry, Wi-Fi, a children’s play area, a bar and gas bottles for sale. There are 20 for tents and motorhomes.
