Ski resort and charming village located in Savoy, at the foot of mountain La Grande Casse, and in the heart of the national park of La Vanoise, Pralognan-La-Vanoise is a pure place of resourcing. Huddled behind one of the biggest icecaps in the Alps, the resort of Pralognan preserved its character and hospitality… Immediately striking, when arriving in Pralognan-La-Vanoise, are the mountains, these high mountains…
They sublimate the environment and seem to protect the village like a jewel in its box. La Grande Casse is the highest peak of the Massif of La Vanoise, and the highest mountain in the department. With its 3855m of altitude, it dominates more than 30 other peaks over 3000m in heigh.
The village of Pralognan-La-Vanoise is situated down in the valley of La Tarentaise, between the ski resorts of Courchevel and La Plagne. Family resort, reasonably sized, Pralognan-La-Vanoise proposes a ski area true to its image. In a majestic environment, you will ski near the Nature, chamois and ibex.
Summer and winter you will benefit from many activities thanks to a suitable facility. In 1992, during the Olympic Games of Albertville, Jean Guy Muriel described this resort in these words : “It’s there, down in the valley, beyond the three valleys, beyond everything, in the hollow of La Vanoise. When the road ends up becoming a track, we no longer expect anything : The wilderness has taken over for a while. That is when the village appears, simple, with no concrete nor fuss, which are not savoyard at all.
Everything is sober, marked by the rough-and-ready life that everyone has lived for centuries. The reception is like this impression : You’re looking for the mountain… It is right here!”
