Torgon is a small ski resort located in Valais’ province above Vionnaz’ town. The skiing area is part of the domain called “Les Portes du Soleil”.

It also provides its guests with a breathtaking view over Lake Léman, the Alps, Dents du Midi and Mount White. Its runs accessible to all skiers offer a direct access to the whole domain “Les Portes du Soleil”.

In winter, this family ski resort offers countless possibilities to everyone. Its ski school, demarcated routes for snowshoeing, charming alpine restaurants and nightclub are key elements : Torgon is a privileged place with great snow conditions from December to April.

Skiing in Torgon: the resort’s strong points

Located at the western end of the Swiss Valais, the resort of Torgon is the Swiss gateway to the Franco-Swiss Portes du Soleil ski area, one of the largest in the world. This privileged location, between Lake Geneva and the Chablais Alps, combines the authenticity of a mountain village with the vastness of an international ski area offering more than 600 km of interconnected slopes between Switzerland and France.

A Franco-Swiss ski area with Valais charm

The Torgon ski area is located between 1,100 and 1,950 meters above sea level, with 16 km of its own slopes and direct connections to the French resorts of Châtel, La Chapelle-d’Abondance, and Morgins, within the colossal Portes du Soleil ski area.

The terrain is very varied and offers wide, natural slopes, ideal for enjoying the mountains without the crowds. From the top of Plan de Croix, the view takes in Lake Geneva, the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc, a visual privilege that makes every day of skiing a scenic experience.

The local Torgon ski area is perfect for those seeking a peaceful atmosphere but with unlimited access to a large alpine terrain. With the Portes du Soleil ski pass, skiers can easily move between Switzerland and France, combining different styles of snow and alpine cuisine in a single day.

Ideal for families and beginners

Torgon is renowned for its family-friendly welcome and relaxed atmosphere. The Swiss Ski School in Torgon (ESS) offers lessons for all ages, and the Jorette beginners’ area has magic carpets and gentle slopes for learning in complete safety.

Lift pass prices are more affordable than in the large neighboring resorts, and the natural environment of Val d’Illiez offers many options for family fun: snowshoeing, sledding, cross-country skiing, and scenic walks.

Unspoiled nature and authentic atmosphere

Unlike large tourist resorts, Torgon has retained its traditional character and moderate tourist development. The wooden chalets, small guesthouses, and local restaurants maintain a warm and authentic atmosphere.

The natural environment is one of the most beautiful in the Chablais: fir forests, snow-covered meadows, and panoramic views over the Rhône Valley. On clear days, the views over Lake Geneva are breathtaking.

Year-round activities

Torgon is also a four-season destination. In summer, it becomes an ideal place for hiking, cycling, and paragliding, with routes crossing the French border and themed trails allowing visitors to discover the alpine flora. Its proximity to Lake Geneva and the town of Aigle makes it easy to combine mountain and water activities in the same trip.

Easy access and strategic location

The resort is located just 20 minutes from Aigle and 1.5 hours from Geneva, with well-maintained roads throughout the year. The train + bus combination allows easy access without a car, reinforcing its sustainable and family-friendly character.
