Port Ainé

The Port Ainé ski resort, which opened in January 1987, is located in the municipality of Rialp, in the Orri massif and within the Pallars Sobirà region, in the Pyrenees of Lleida. This resort is located next to the Aigüestortes National Park. It is quite young, but it is considerer one of the largest sports center in Europe.

Location of Port Ainé

The Port Ainé resort is located at 2000, in the influence area of the Rialp village. In the Orri massif, a splendid natural setting offered by the Pallars Sobirà region, in the Lleida Pyrenees. It has a privileged situation: It is located under the Orri Peak (2.440m), with 95% of the tracks facing the north face, which allows you to enjoy a favorable microclimate, especially when snowfalls are scarce. All in all, it has an unbeatable quality of snow powder, from December to April.

It is remarkable in this resort, the fact that its tracks converge in a central area, where the cafeteria is located. Making it highly recommended for family skiing, as it is really difficult to get lost in this resort. It is faced to the north, ideal for keeping snow in perfect condition throughout the ski season. The 2006-2007 season was the last resort to close throughout Spain, extending the season until mid-May, which is why it is very popular among skiers and snowboarders.

Slopes layout

The station has about 30 km of slopes and 800 meters of vertical drop, suitable for all levels and types of skiers or snowboarders. All the slopes are within the Natural Park of the Alt Pirineu and stand out for their integration into a mountain landscape, and for wonderful views towards the entire Pyrenees.

Port Ainé stands out above all for being a resort aimed at family audiences and those who start in the world of skiing and snowboarding. The JET – CIM detachable 6seater chairlift reaches in the summit of the resort, the Orri Peak; it allows skiers to enjoy, among many others, the green trail Bellavista; a simple route of more than 3 kilometers long that goes around the entire perimeter of the resort. It allows any type of skier, not minding the level, to enjoy the landscape and the best ski areas of the resort.

The resort is recognized by the Catalan Tourism Agency as “Equipment and Destination of Family Tourism”. It has the necessary facilities and services to guarantee the good reception of families with children: security, accessibility, equipment, information, activities, etc.

Access to the resort from Barcelona (metropolitan area) is by freeway and highway from Cervera. For those who come from Madrid, the option of catching a train and getting off at Lleida Pyrenees, is also interesting. There you can rent a car already equipped with snow chains.

Port Ainé has a Play Park for children and adults. At the Play Park, with the acquisition of the forfait, you can enjoy: sled track, tubbing track; Adventure Park in the Trees – Multiadventure Circuit (a park where children and adults can make the circuit 7 meters high, which is accessed from a quick staircase with logs); Mini Tree Adventure Park, which consists of 10 games for the bravest adventurers; Snow garden and access to the ski lifts.
