This autumn 2025, Chamonix-based brand ZAG Skis is expanding its freeride range with the cutting-edge SLAP collection. True to ZAG‘s DNA, where freeriding is not a trend but a true culture, these new skis embody a liberated and daring vision of skiing. Developed and tested in the heart of the Mont Blanc massif in the ZAGLab laboratory in Chamonix in collaboration with the brand’s athletes, the SLAP skis combine lightness, manoeuvrability and boldness to offer enjoyment on all terrains. From the narrowest model, the SLAP 92, to the giant SLAP 112, via the SLAP 98, SLAP 104 and SLAP 104 LITE, every skier can find the ski that will provide the perfect balance between performance and skiing pleasure.
ZAG Skis: a fun and versatile freeride design
Inspired by the spirit of backcountry freestyle, the SLAP range stands out for its playful and versatile design. All models feature a double rocker profile (raised front and rear tips) that guarantees both excellent float and great manoeuvrability in deep snow, while maintaining impeccable grip on hard snow. The lightweight construction combining poplar and paulownia wood ensures an optimal balance between strength and dynamism, while the balanced geometry makes every turn intuitive and precise. These characteristics give the SLAP a playful feel (‘playful ski’) that encourages you to make the most of every bump with style, whether on the piste, at the edge of the piste or in the backcountry.
It should be noted that the lightness of these skis even opens the door to freerando use on certain models – ZAG also offers a dedicated model, the SLAP 104 LITE, the brand’s first twin-tip touring ski.
An exemplary commitment to the environment
Beyond performance, ZAG incorporates an eco-responsible approach into the development of its skis. No less than 95% of the materials used are sourced in Europe, with recycled steel edges, bio-based resin and an FSC-certified wood core. The aim is to minimise the carbon footprint while ensuring the durability of the equipment.
Each ski is designed and tested in Chamonix in the ZAGLab, ensuring rigorous quality control and a long product life. ZAG thus proves that it is possible to combine freeride performance and environmental responsibility without compromise.
ZAG SLAP 92 & 98 skis – Versatility from the piste to powder snow
Versatile and precise, the SLAP 92 and SLAP 98 are designed for those who like to switch between piste and off-piste in the same day, without changing equipment or style. With a waist width of 92 mm and 98 mm respectively, these two skis offer an excellent compromise between grip on hard snow and float in powder, allowing you to switch from carving on groomed slopes to virgin snowfields with confidence.
Agile and responsive, they remain playful even at high speeds, which will delight creative skiers who don’t hesitate to throw in a few jumps at the edge of the piste or on the kickers in the snowpark. Thanks to their double rocker and lightweight construction, the SLAP 92/98 pivots easily and is suitable for all terrains, making them excellent ‘all-mountain freeride’ skis.

ZAG SLAP 104 skis – The essence of freeriding according to ZAG
With a 104 mm waist, the SLAP 104 embodies the heart of ZAG’s freeride philosophy. This versatile, 100% freeride ski is at home on all terrains, combining stability, float and tolerance for unlimited exploration.
Its progressive shape and balanced flex make it the ideal companion for wide open spaces, where it offers excellent float in powder while remaining responsive on harder snow. Playful and lightweight, the SLAP 104 encourages you to take advantage of every bit of terrain off the beaten track, but also carves with confidence when needed.
Intermediate to expert skiers will find it a confidence-inspiring ski, capable of accompanying them in powdery forests as well as on wide alpine slopes.

ZAG SLAP 112 skis – Power and fluidity for deep snow
Designed for heavy snow days and challenging slopes, the SLAP 112 is the widest ski in the SLAP family. With a 112 mm waist, it is a true powder gun offering exceptional floatation in deep snow. However, this ski is not just about its width: it has been designed to remain accessible despite its power, allowing the user to go big with fluidity in large powder fields.
The SLAP 112 stands out for its flawless stability at high speed and its ability to instantly lift off, even when landing ambitious jumps. Inspired by the skis used on the Freeride World Tour, it will satisfy experienced freeriders looking for a ski to push their limits, while surprising them with its versatility for a model of this size.

ZAG Skis SLAP 104 LITE model – Freerando without compromise
A lighter version of the SLAP 104, the SLAP 104 LITE has been designed specifically for freerando (freeride backcountry with skin ascents). Thanks to a lighter paulownia wood core and a refined construction, this ski retains all the playful behaviour and stability of the original model, but with a reduced weight that makes ascents much easier.
The 104 LITE features the double rocker and raised rear tip of the SLAP range, making it one of the few twin-tip touring skis on the market – a feature that makes it the first twin-tip touring ski developed by ZAG. On the descent, it offers the same float in powder and the same reassuring grip on hard snow as the classic SLAP 104, so ski touring enthusiasts no longer have to sacrifice downhill enjoyment for lighter weight on the ascent.

The new ZAG SLAP 2025 range offers fun, high-performance freeride skis that are suitable for all aspects of off-piste skiing – from playing among the trees in the resort to the virgin slopes of the high mountains, not to mention serious ski touring. Each model, born out of ZAG’s unique Chamonix freeride culture, highlights specific technical characteristics (versatility, grip, floatation, lightness, etc.) to meet the needs of a wide range of skiers. And thanks to responsible development that prioritises sustainable and local materials, ZAG shows that it is possible to combine a passion for freeriding with respect for the environment.
