Plan de Corones (or Kronplatz in German) is a ski resort situated in the northeast of Italy. Based in the South Tyrol region, it is part of the Dolomiti Superski area. At the top of the resort, you can admir a spectaculr view over the Dolomite mountains, declared World Heritage by the UNESCO. Its 116 km wide, the slopes are linked by brand new lifts which make it one of the best ski resorts of the region.
The ski resort Plan de Corones is diverse and vast, and beginners can enjoy it as well as intermediate or advanced skiers. There is also a well-equiped snowpark for Freestyle fan. For non-skiers, different activities are provided on the station. Challenginf trails with incredible views on the peaks make hiking even more attractive even in winter.
You can aslo experience aeral sports such as paragliding and Tandem Fly that offer absolutly unique views on the Dolomites. At the top end of the resort, the Messner Mountain Museum was inaugurated in July 2015.
Plan de Corones is also known for the Concordia bell ,. It is the second largest bell in the Alps, and aims to bring a message of peace on Earth. It was built in 2003, at 2275 meters above the sea level. Plan de Corones is the ideal resort for winter sports !
