Located in the heart of the Central Pyrenees, Peyragudes ski resort was founded in 1988 from the merger of two stations from the Snow Plan of the 1970s in France: Peyresourde and Les Agudes. This modern resort extends over 1,500 hectares in an idyllic mountain environment in the centre of the French Pyrenees. Its slopes are at an altitude of between 1,600 and 2,400 meters. They are found between the two sides of a mountain that dominate the valleys of Louron (Hautes-Pyrénées) and Larboust (Haute-Garonne).

The area offers a magnificent panoramic view of its neighbouring peaks which exceed 3,000 meters and surround this unique territory of more than 60Km of well-maintained trails. Beautiful curves, long and endless descents, gentle slopes… Peyragudes skiing is a downhill paradise. Its 6 km stretch off-piste, found in Vallée Blanche (white valley) offers some of the best ski in Pyrenees.

Peyragudes is more connected than ever: New cable car from Loudenvielle

One of the attractions of skiing in Peyragudes is that practically all of its accommodations are down on the slopes, a real luxury for all those who want to enjoy the snow and the mountains while forgetting about the car. During the summer of 2019 the French station inaugurated a new cable car, called Skyvall that joins the valley with the foot of the station in just a few minutes. It was an ambitious project that dated back 10 years.

Now that it has finally come to light, it’s added enormous value for both the ski resort and the inhabitants of the valley. A non-polluting transport, which facilitates all skiers and inhabitants of the valley, a convenient and direct transport between Loudenvielle and Peyragudes.

Peyragudes, much more than just skiing

Peyragudes proposes a wide range of sports and recreational activities during the winter, such as snowshoeing, dog sledging and snowmobile rides. There are even more unusual mountain experiences to share with either friends, as a couple or with the family.  These include spending a night in an igloo, descending the slopes of Peyragudes in a two-seater paraglider or practicing the newest way of skiing, the aggressive: speedriding. If you prefer just gliding on the snow, we recommend the airboard (sledge with air), the Snake Gliss (collective sledging) or the Yooner (sledge with suspensions).

In addition, it is also possible to relax in the Spassio wellness centre at the foot of the Peyresourde slope and in the Balnea centre, located 15 kilometres from Peyragudes by road or just over 10 minutes, peacefully going down in the cable car that goes down to Loudenvielle from the foot of the trail.
