Park City ski resort
Park City has two towns at its base, on the one hand you will find Park City Mountain Village and on the other, Park City Canyons Village. Both have accommodation at the foot of the piste and direct connection by modern ski lifts to the ski area.
In Mountain Village you will find a variety of ski lifts that have little unevenness and that give access to a wide variety of green and blue runs. It is an ideal area for beginners and families.
The Crescent Express is a 4-seater detachable chairlift that will transport you in a short time to the middle of the ski area, where you can take another detachable one called Bonanza Express. From this area, you can enjoy both the views of the valley and the famous Rockies, as well as the closest peaks that exceed 3,000 meters in altitude, such as Jupiter Peak and on the other side of the mountain, where the Ninety-nine presides. in the Canyons Village area.
Sustainable development of the Park City ski resort
Park City has adopted the most ambitious long-term climate targets in North America: to become carbon free and operate with 100% renewable electricity for city activities by 2022, and for the entire municipality by 2030. These targets, which were adopted unanimously by the city council with strong community endorsement, are not only ambitious, but attainable.
ELECTRIFICATION – A FURTHER APPROACH TO GETTING CLOSER TO ZERO CARBON IS TO SWITCH FROM FOSSIL FUELS TO RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY.
For instance, Park City is currently converting its public transportation system from diesel to electric vehicles and is installing a charging facility for personal electric automobiles. All newly built affordable residential units in the city will be electrically heated rather than natural gas heated.
