Between Pneken and Ahorn mountains in Schwaz district, you will find the ski resort of Mayrhofen with nearly 179km of skiing area, near Hintertux’s glacier and at more than 2500m of altitude.

The ski resort is made up of 3 villages forming the skiable domain : Finkenberg, Lanersbach and Schwendau, making this sector one of the biggest skiable domains in Austria.

Mayrhofen only has a few black runs but offers nearly 140km of red and blue runs

Snowboard lovers will find an incredible snowpark sponsored by Vans with 6 different areas for all levels.

The ski resort is equipped with 41 modern ski lifts and a free bus service in order to get around easily in Mayrhofen without having to use a car. It offers some incredible ski lifts, transporting 160 people at the same time.

Despite the fact that it is not a difficult ski resort and that it is recommended for intermediate skiers, experts can train here because Mayrhofen has the most inclined run of Austria with the Hara-Kiri piste (black run in Penken’s sector).

Mayrhofen also hosts the Snowbombing since 2005, a music festival on snow during spring which has a good impact in Europe.
