Lagunillas is Provincia de Cordilleras’ main mountain sports center, located at 6.561 feet high and 41 miles away from Santiago de Chile. It was founded in 1933 by Club Andino de Chile, the same organisation that has been running it since its creation. There are 13 slopes within Lagunillas’ total area of 200 hectares, each one rated according to its difficulty level. Due to its own features, it’s an excellent location for mountain related activities such as randonee skiing. Most popular slopes are Novicios, Pancho and La Lola, each of them between 1.148 and 3608 feet length. Lagunillas was also one of the first resorts to be prepared for night skiing, mountaineering and backcountry skiing.
