Sustainable development of the Tignes ski resort
The estate is internationally recognised for its compliance with international requirements for sustainable tourism development. This commitment to sustainable development is not new. Since 2008, the Société des téléphériques de la Grande Motte, which operates the Tignes ski area, has been ISO 14001 certified.
IN ORDER TO REDUCE ITS ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT, MORE THAN A HUNDRED PYLONS HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE DOMAIN
and grassing work is undertaken every year to integrate the slopes into the landscape, fix the snow cover and restore biodiversity.
STGM regularly renews its fleet of buses to offer a clean and efficient shuttle service to visitors, who are invited to leave their cars in the car park. In 2013, STGM created an Environmental Observatory to anticipate the consequences of the works undertaken on the landscape and to take stock of the species present on the estate.
