Switzerland | Region: Graubünden

Years ago, this place was just a stopover between Chur and Tiefencastel-Lenzerheide. Nowadays, the ski resort of Lenzerheide has a wide range of offers for families, which, together with the extensive child care, is the reason why it has been awarded the quality seal “Familien willkommen” (families welcome). A large number of family-friendly hotels and holiday flats offer affordable accommodation.

Lenzerheide ski resort

The beautiful, sunny slopes in each of the valleys will make skiing fun for families and groups of friends looking for a unique place in the heart of the Alps. Its wide valleys filled with huge forests and icy lakes will provide you with unique sensations that can only be found in Swiss resorts. And for those who like to try different activities, you can enjoy cross-country skiing, tobogganing and more.

Lenzerheide is a snowy paradise, with some 155 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes offering a blanket of quality snow at altitudes ranging from 1230m to 2865m. In addition, the 40 modern ski lifts will transport you to a variety of slopes, panoramic terraces and cosy huts. The 3.5 kilometre long illuminated ski slope and the toboggan run are not to be forgotten either. Both offer you the chance to experience the pleasures of snow and unforgettable moments such as the sunset.

Children can enjoy the Lido Heidsee, which offers a small climbing mountain, a pirate ship, a suspension bridge and a multitude of snow and nature activities specially designed for them. On the other hand, from the Parpaner Rothorn (2861 m) we recommend enjoying the incredible views of countless alpine peaks.

Europe’s longest toboggan run at Lenzerheide-Pradaschier in Churwalden is over 3,100 metres long —fun and smiles guaranteed!

In January, the resort organises a special and very popular Nordic ski race called the Planoiras. In addition, in March, the resort also hosts the final of the AUDI FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup, where the world’s best athletes compete in exciting races to win the Crystal Globes.

Situated in the middle of the upper valley, in an idyllic, park-like landscape, the two-part lake lies at an altitude of 1,500 metres. The surroundings are a dream for fishermen and nature lovers. A well-developed hiking trail surrounds the lake, and numerous benches and barbecue areas invite you to linger. You can fish for char, rainbow trout, brown trout and tench. Fish are released into the lake several times a season. Both lakes are private waters and have been maintained and managed by the commune of Vaz/Obervaz for many years.
