
Hautacam is a ski and winter sports resort in the Pyrenees, located in the city of Beaucens, in the Hautes-Pyrenees department in the Occitania region, near Argelès-Gazost and Lourdes.

The Hautacam ski resort
The Hautacam leisure park is a medium altitude resort created in 1972 by Jean Labouly. The Nordic area dates from 1990. Located at 1509 m of altitude, the ski resort of Hautacam extends between several villages, including Argelès-Gazost.
In the heart of the Great Sites of Midi-Pyrénées, the Hautacam resort benefits from a unique panorama : the Pic du Midi, the Brèche de Roland (Gavarnie), Cauterets, Lourdes, the valleys of Luz-Saint-Sauveur, Argelès-Gazost, Val d’Azun…Majestic and fantastic places that you can admire from Hautacam.
In winter, you will enjoy the activities of the ski area: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledging. Hautacam is a unique leisure park, located in the middle of nature in an exceptional mountain setting.
The Hautacam ski resort
The Hautacam ski area is easy to access and has an exceptional panorama from which you can contemplate the highest Pyrenean peaks. There are thousands of ways to discover this ski area for young and old alike. It offers secure slopes for all levels and it is easy to find your way around to experience your first ski adventures.
The Cardouet sector is ideal for beginners and the little ones, and the Naouit sector for the more experienced.
In total, the Hautacam ski area has 15 downhill ski runs offering 26 kilometers of downhill skiing. Hautacam has a sledge run and a snowshoe trail, and offers 15 kilometers of Nordic loops to fully enjoy the resort.
Tranquility and skiing in the woods
Hautacam is a medium altitude resort, where you can ski in the middle of the woods. It gathers all the charms of a family resort, accessible, a beautiful sunshine, playful and secure areas to enjoy nature and fresh air.
Between traditional barns and preserved villages, Hautacam is a pastoral land which preserves intact its fauna and flora, peaceful and serene. It is ideal to spend days with the family and to let the children discover the joys of snow in winter or hiking in summer.
You will find several ski lifts including a carpet, a sledging slope, a beginner’s area, and activities during the school vacations. The Mountain luge attraction, located at the start of the ski lifts, is an innovative way to discover the Hautacam area in a playful way.
On a 2-seater sled, you can manage your descent from 10 to 45 km/h by simply activating the brake to control your speed. Comfortable and safe, this equipment allows you to discover new sensations at any age.

The Pic du Midi with all the villages of the Valleys of Gavarnie is the largest International Dark Sky Reserve (RICE) of continental Europe, labeled by the International Dark Sky Association.

Unforgettable experiences in Hautacam
Beyond its excellent alpine and nordic ski trails, Hautacam is known to cyclists for its challenging climb. Crossed for the first time in 1994 by Frenchman Luc Leblanc, the Hautacam-Tramassel pass has been a stage finish for the Tour de France on several occasions.
With each pedal stroke, you discover a new corner of the Argelès valley, the Val d’Azun and the summits of the Vignemale massif. Once you reach the top, enjoy the view over the valley before embarking on a magical descent of over 14 km.
Other activities on snow …
Although small in size, the Hautacam complex offers a wide range of activities to enjoy in addition to skiing. Mountain Luge is one of them. In a two-seater sled with brakes, you will enjoy speeds up to 45 km / h.
You can also escape for a snowshoeing tour in a huge, marked and secure environment (if necessary, you can also be guided by instructors of the resort).
Nordic ski lovers will find 15 kilometers of cross-country ski trails in Hautacam. You can enjoy the environment of the resort as you wish. The Hautacam resort allows the practice of alternative skiing (called “classic”) and skating.
The classic mode, similar to normal walking, is ideal for a family outing. Skating, similar to roller skating, requires a little more technique and learning the basic movements. However, after a few hours, you will have a remarkable feeling of speed. The resort has 3 trails designed to get away from it all, but without getting lost. Progress in complete safety and find your own rhythm, on tracks that are ideally marked and maintained.
In Hautacam, everything seems possible! You will be able to build igloos accompanied by… llamas! Yes, you read that right! What an unusual experience!
The mountain resort of Hautacam in summer
In summer, the resort of Hautacam offers various activities in the nature. You can find the following one: Dévalkart. A small device with 4 wheels that offers you the opportunity to make a descent all terrain. Go up to the top of the starting track towed by a ski lift and enjoy the descent and the sensations!
This activity is only available during the summer months, you have to be at least 1,30m tall to get on board the machines. The price is 4€ for adults and 2€ for children from 3 to 17 years old.

The resort also offers: the trapper of Hautacam. It is a collection of activities to spend a fun afternoon with your family. Orienteering, animal footprint recognition, footprint molding, and finally a mini-fire. What to become real adventurers explorers!
This activity also offers mountain sledding if you wish!

The Grand Pierre, classified *** with elevator, offers 55 rooms, including 5 PMR rooms, most of them with a balcony with a panoramic view on the surrounding mountains. Comfortable and modern rooms, equipped with TV, bathroom with hairdryer, WC, safe, free WIFI in the whole hotel.
The Petit Pierre, not classified, without elevator (2 floors), without balcony, equipped with bathroom,WC, TV, safe, free WIFI, offers its 13 additional rooms renovated in spring 2017.

Hotel Logis Le Miramont ***
This establishment, characteristic of the 1930s, was built following an architectural competition on behalf of Senator de Rothschild. This family house, now run by Dominique and Pierre Pucheu and acquired in 1963, is home to a hotel on a human scale, as well as a restaurant that gives pride of place to local products.
