Castle Mountain ski resort
The ski resort Castle mountain is situated on 2 mountains, the peaks of Gravenstafle (2391M) and the North Peak (2354M) feature the majority of the station.
The Tamarrack Chair, the Sundance Triple Chair and the T Rex Bar give access to these 2 summits. If on the right side of the mountains on the trails map the difficulty of the slopes is varied, designed for beginners as well as confirmed skiers, the Chute Side below the skyline traverse only comprises the harder slopes where experts can enjoy the deep powder snow.
An awesome place to enjoy skiing: the ski resort Castle Mountain
However do not miss the Chinch traverse which takes you back to the chairlift and the main slopes of the station. The slopes of the second mountain are designed for beginners.
Take the Huckleberry triple chair and enjoy a run through the forest and the Ghost Rider and Ambushi glades! If the ski resort of Canada is perfect for alpine skiing it also provides cross country trail, snow shoe tours and the unique experience of cat skiing! What is the concept of cat skiing?
Book the day, take the Huckleberry Chair and wait for your own personal cat which will climb up the mountain and take you to untouched valleys and challenging bowls and glades. It is an amazing skiing opportunity which allows you to enjoy a 2000 vertical feet run you will never forget.
Book your day, take the Huckleberry chairlift and a snow groomer will come and take you to a spotless slope. You’ll be able to make your mark in thick, light powder where nobody has been before.
It’s an extraordinary and unforgettable experience at Castle Mountain ski resort.

Since most of this route is descending, it is quite smooth and no previous snowshoeing expertise is required to take part. This tour is guided, which ensures a safe and instructive trip.
After approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours of walking on snowshoes, it’s time for the well-known dinner and the discovery of the lodging!

Castle’s Powder Stagecoach holds the distinction of being one of the few grooming resorts in North America. Using a combination of lifts and groomers, across 900+ acres of land and on some of North America’s finest snow, the experience is as unique as it is exhilarating. A brief background…
The West Castle Ski Resort ( today known as Castle Mountain Resort) was established by Paul Klaas, a Swiss settler with an unbridled passion for skiing. Klaas discovered Castle on horseback well before paved roads. Following many years of winter discovery, Klaas fulfilled his lifelong dream of a ski resort in the West Castle Valley back in 1966.
In collaboration with local guides Centre Peak High Country Adventures, the Haig Lake High Country Experience enables you to retrace the footsteps of our founder on this once in a lifetime high country horseback riding expedition. Not only are you treated to stories from the past, but also to stunning scenery seldom found on a half day horseback ride.

A host of little-travelled roads meander through the Castle region. Regardless of whether you wish to cover 25 km, 50 km or over 100 km, there is a route for you in this tiny corner of the country.
