Ischgl is a small city located in the Paznaun valley, at the heart of the Austrian Tyrol. It is situated at 1377m above sea level and has a population of 1500 inhabitants (in 2001). Its ski resort Silvretta Arena Ischgl-Samnaun is linked to the resort of Samnaun on the other side of the Swiss border.
This ski domain represents the biggest skiing area in the Alps. It offers 238km of well-maintained slopes, served by 43 ski lifts allowing skiers to have access to a wide variety of slopes (515 hectares of skiing area) with nearly 1100 snow cannons. A very long slope of around 11 kilometers will enable you to enjoy this huge descent from 3000m to 1400m without having to use a ski lift.
For thrill seekers, the ski resort offers an extreme black piste with an over 70% incline groomed by a specific vehicle equipped with a winch.
