The Scottish culture near Lecht is also an attraction. This region hosts the Highland Games in Tomintoul, and you regularly see traditional Scottish bag-Pipe bands. You can also visit Benevon, a typical cottage of Scotland in Tomintoul.
The roads are known to be winding with gentle slopes, and make an ideal road trip for motorcyclists.

You can access the Lecht ski resort which is above Strathdon through the pass between Tomintoul and Strathdon at 637 meters above sea level.
The ski centre is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers with the slopes being gentle. There are mainly blue slopes, 9 of them as well as 5 green and 5 red slopes. The station is divided into two parts, with the Lecht Day Lodge in between.
There is even the Snowboard Fun Park dedicated to Snowboarders, where they can practice Freestyle.

Other activities available for family & friends
The Lecht ski centre is also well-equipped with snow-machines to guarantee better snow quality. Have you ever done downhill snow tubing? It is a recently developed activity which involves experiencing some new sensations but while also being a lot of fun. You go down in a kind of buoy on a specially designed slope with your family or friends!
For the summer the station has developed a brand new activity, Deval Karting. Very different from mountain biking, it is a wheel buggy you use to go down the hill as fast as possible. The kart has no motor and can be controlled with the brakes and the steering wheel.
Sustainable development of the The Lecht 2090 ski resort
The electricity used in snowmaking is offset by Letch’s 150 kW wind turbine on the southern side of the ski resort.
Letch’s approach of guaranteeing that the snow it produces is matched by the
environmentally friendly energy generated by the ski resort’s wind powered turbine, which is considered to be a world first,
and arguably a sign of things to come for the ski business in this era of global climate change.
