Mürren-Schilthorn Ski Resort
The 360-degree alpine panorama encompasses the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains, with views of almost 200 peaks and 40 glaciers stretching from Mont Blanc to the Black Forest. Mürren-Schilthorn is a small village situated at an altitude of 1,650 metres above the Lauterbrunnental valley.
From Lauterbrunnental you can take a tilting cable car to Stechelber, an aerial cable car that will take you to Mürren, where you will discover a very protected and natural area. Its idyllic valleys offer a total of more than 200 kilometres of varied hiking trails with magnificent views.
Completely car-free, you will enjoy a very different mountain atmosphere. From the village, you can take the Schilthorn to reach an altitude of 2970 metres. The area is also known for the Descente Infernale, a frenetic amateur ski race, which takes place in January with some 1800 participants.
The fastest cover the 15.8 km of slopes from the Schilthorn to Lauterbrunnental in just 15 minutes.
Mürren-Schilthorn ski resort is committed to sustainability
The Schilthorn ski resort is implementing measures to protect the environment. There are zones for the protection of flora and fauna. The revolving restaurant is solar-powered.
The villages of Mürren and Gimmelwald are car-free and only accessible by cable car. Ski busses provide transport to the valley.
The resort has rail connections. Lauterbrunnen railway station is right next to the base station of the Lauterbrunnen-Grütschalp cable car. A post bus takes visitors from the station to the Stechelberg-Mürren cable car base station. The train to Lauterbrunnen departs from Interlaken East station.

Mürren-Schilthorn mountain resort in summer
Follow the lower village road from the Mürren railway station to the Sportchalet (village centre). At the end, you will reach the entrance to the via ferrata, which is located south of the retaining walls of the tennis courts. You can enjoy this activity from mid-June to the end of October.
The 10 waterfalls of the Trümmelbach drain the mighty walls of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau glaciers at a rate of up to 20,000 litres of water per second. This natural spectacle in the Lauterbrunnen Valley is accessible via a lift tunnel.
