Born in the heart of the ZAG laboratory in Chamonix, the MATA Ti embodies the brand’s new vision for all-mountain skiing: a ski designed for carving pleasure, precision and gliding sensations, even at moderate speeds. Designed for demanding skiers who like to feel the ski working under their feet, the MATA offers an engaging, fluid and intuitive ride. Its bold asymmetrical design and unique shape make every turn a new pleasure: on the piste or in light off-piste snow, the Mata strings together turns with precision and without excessive effort, instantly making you want to push harder and vary your radius.
ZAG MATA Ti, an asymmetrical shape for tenfold sensations
The Mata Ti relies on its unusual chassis to transform carving. Its asymmetrical geometry allows you to put the ski on edge with confidence: contact with the edge remains stable and progressive, offering clean and perfectly controlled carving without requiring extreme speeds. The result is a playful and lively ski that encourages you to push yourself further and further in your turns.

Even on hard snow, its remarkable grip and reassuring stability allow you to ski hard without losing control, even at low speeds, where the Mata remains responsive and offers excellent rebound. In short, every turn becomes a playground where adrenaline and precision come together: “smooth, progressive carving, without ever requiring excessive speed”.
All-terrain versatility and heavy-duty construction
With a 90 mm waist and double rocker, the Mata Ti is not just a piste ski. Its width makes it playful and manoeuvrable on groomed slopes, while offering good floatation in uneven or powdery snow at the edge of the piste. Its “Heavy Duty Ti” construction combines a poplar wood core with a titanal layer (aluminium-titanium alloy) to maximise grip and energy return.
Poplar provides lightness and liveliness, titanal and quadriaxial fibre provide enormous torsional response, and rubber inserts reduce vibrations to smooth out irregularities. This technical formula results in a ski with a robust frame: it swallows up uneven terrain while maintaining a precise and stable feel on the snow.

Prepared in this way, the Mata Ti resists excessive pressure and challenging passages: its edge grip is exceptional, and even when accelerating between two turns, the responsive ski literally “rebounds” the skier towards the next turn.
Precision and thrills guaranteed
The combination of its reinforced chassis and short shape underfoot (radius ~14–15 m) makes the Mata Ti very precise when changing direction. Despite its demanding behaviour, it remains accessible: it easily generates significant G-forces when turning without sacrificing comfort or requiring you to ride at full speed to enjoy it. This dynamic versatility makes the Mata Ti a perfect “fun carver”: a ski to take in your quiver for “frontside” days, when you don’t need to bring out your big freeride ski.
Power and tolerance combine to ensure incisive handling, allowing you to target your ideal line. Testers noted its “enormous oomph” and rebound energy, allowing you to “pop” easily between turns. Ultimately, despite its track-oriented profile, the Mata offers a wide range of uses – from rhythmic carving turns to light powder play, always with lots of fun and control.
Careful manufacturing and sustainable commitments
ZAG left nothing to chance in its construction: the Mata Ti is “sustainable performance, designed to last, without compromising on feel”. Its wood core (poplar) comes from European sources to reduce its carbon footprint. The edges are made from 100% recycled steel, the resin used is largely bio-based (derived from oil-producing plants), and even the topsheet is made from castor-derived polyamide.

All these ZAGreen choices guarantee responsible production without compromising performance. For example, the Heavy Duty construction with Titanal (Ti) reinforcement provides rigidity and rebound, while the multi-axial fibre layering and rubber insert make for a ski that is both responsive and forgiving. These are all advantages that expert skiers will appreciate, allowing them to adapt their skiing to all terrains and speeds.
Designed in Chamonix for mountains elsewhere
Like the brand’s other models, the Mata Ti was designed, tested and validated at the ZAGLab in Chamonix, in close collaboration with the engineers and athletes of the ZAG team. This proximity to the terrain – between the groomed slopes and the wild couloirs of the Mont Blanc massif – can be felt in every detail. The ski is developed for real mountain conditions: it absorbs shocks, reads bumps and remains supreme when the snow becomes hard or changeable. It is a ski “made by skiers for skiers” who hope to experience unique sensations all day long.
Price and availability. The ZAG Mata Ti is now available to the public at a recommended retail price of €769 per pair. True to the ZAG spirit, it offers a “new mindset” for all-mountain skiing: powerful, versatile and fun, with particular attention paid to manufacturing quality and environmental impact. In other words, everything you need to make you want to carve harder, longer without ever losing precision or comfort.
