The French brand Rossignol, a century-old icon of mountain sports, unveils the third edition of its bold creative project: the Super Project. Launched in 2023, this unique programme aims to reinterpret the most iconic models from its heritage in limited editions, creating exceptional sports equipment that transcends seasons and disciplines. This year, the collection makes a remarkable return to the 1990s, drawing inspiration from a ski that marked an entire generation: the Rossignol 7S.
A vibrant tribute to a slalom legend
It is difficult to evoke the golden age of competitive skiing without remembering the bright yellow ski that cut through the slalom gates with unprecedented agility: the Rossignol 7S. When it was launched in 1992, the 7S introduced the Vibration Absorption System (VAS), a major innovation developed by Rossignol. This device, inserted into the ski’s structure, was designed to filter out unwanted vibrations, particularly those generated at very high speeds when entering and exiting turns. This technology offered several decisive advantages in slalom, providing significantly firmer grip on hard snow, increased stability in very fast gate sequences, and smoother gliding that reduced muscle fatigue for racers over the course of multiple runs.
As soon as it was introduced, the 7S was adopted by many Alpine Ski World Cup athletes, who saw it as a decisive advantage in disciplines where hundredths of a second make all the difference.
Renowned skiers—including several members of the French team and powerful alpine skiing nations such as the Austrian Ski Team and the Italian Ski Team—quickly racked up victories and podium finishes with this model on their feet.
The media coverage of slalom races in the 1990s helped to establish the 7S as a symbol of performance, and its bright yellow design made it immediately recognisable on television broadcasts, further enhancing its aura.
Finally, its bright yellow design, which was unusual and daring for the time, left a lasting impression. In a world dominated by black and red, the 7S imposed a strong visual identity that was instantly recognisable, becoming an object of desire as much as a sporting tool.

It symbolised the entry of skiing into a new era of marketing and product design, where technical performance was coupled with a strong aesthetic impact.
Technical and high-end equipment
For this third edition of the Super Project, Rossignol has chosen to revive the spirit of the 7S by applying its graphic identity and performance DNA to four flagship pieces of equipment:
- the Super Blackops, a pair of ultra-dynamic all-mountain skis,
- the Super Revenant, an all-mountain snowboard with smooth gliding,
- the Super Heretic, an exceptional enduro bike,
- and the Look Pivot 2.0 15 Super Edition, a legendary binding revisited.
The result is a collection that bridges disciplines and seasons, designed for those who live the mountains intensely, whether carving through powder, riding in the park or hurtling down enduro trails.
Super Blackops: all-terrain pleasure
Designed for free riding, jumping and carving, the Super Blackops features a PEFC™-certified poplar wood core and a titanal plate for power and responsiveness. Its progressive rocker construction and straight edges ensure precise grip while maintaining a playful and fluid feel. Available in several lengths (162 to 192 cm) and offered alone (RRP: £680) or in a pack with Super Edition bindings (RRP: £1,060), this ski is designed for demanding freeriders who want to combine commitment and creativity.
Super Revenant: energy and fluidity
The Super Revenant revisits the all-terrain snowboard with a clever mix of technology and fun. Its Twin All-Mountain profile and RadCut technology – combining traditional and reverse sidecuts – offer intuitive turns and versatile gliding. Serrated Edges reinforce grip on hard snow, while AmpTek Elite camber guarantees pop and explosiveness. The result is a board with inexhaustible energy, designed to perform anywhere on the mountain (RRP: £520).

Super Heretic: the bike that breaks the mould
The most unusual item in the collection, the Super Heretic perfectly illustrates the project’s cross-season philosophy. This high-end 29-inch enduro bike features SRAM AXS electronic transmission and Fox Factory suspension for surgical precision on descents and in bike parks. With its premium frame and components, it is aimed at both competitors and thrill seekers (RRP: £6,500).
Look Pivot 2.0 15 Super Edition: the legend reinvented
With its neon yellow design directly inspired by the 1990s, the Look Pivot 2.0 15 Super Edition features the aluminium construction and pivoting heel that made the legendary Pivot 18 famous. Compatible with GripWalk and ISO 5355 A soles, it offers precision, reliability and performance for expert freestylers and freeriders (RRP: £380).

Noteworthy new products: high-performance goggles and boots
For the first time, the Super Project collection has been expanded to include complementary accessories, all faithful to the retro yellow aesthetic of the 7S.
Super High Speed: boots for expert skiers
The Super High Speed is designed for very skilled skiers, with a stiff flex of 130 and a precise fit (98 mm last). Its Dual Core Carbon construction, Thinsulate insulation and multiple adjustment options (flex, canting, forward lean) allow for millimetre-precise fitting. Its thermoformable liner with five customisable zones using the Rossignol boot fitting machine ensures tailor-made comfort (RRP: £650).

Super Otava: panoramic vision and comfort
The Super Otava stands out with its frameless lens offering a wide field of vision, with anti-fog and anti-UV treatment. Its triple-density foam and adjustable strap guarantee optimal comfort and perfect compatibility with helmets. Hi-Trast technology lenses enhance contrast and visibility on snow (RRP: £130).
The Super wardrobe: retro revival
Another new feature for the 2025 edition is a complete clothing capsule to accompany the equipment. Inspired by the bold graphics of the 7S and the outdoor aesthetic of the 1990s, this unisex line includes a water-repellent crinkled nylon jacket (RRP: £135), organic cotton T-shirts and sweatshirts (RRP: £50 to £95), as well as matching accessories: beanie, cap, neck warmer and socks.
This wardrobe, designed for layering and asserting a sporty-chic style on the slopes, embodies Rossignol’s desire to combine performance, design and responsibility: organic cotton, PFC-free DWR treatment and sustainable materials.

Through this third edition, the Super Project fully illustrates Rossignol’s ability to combine heritage and innovation. Far from being a simple exercise in nostalgia, the French brand demonstrates that it knows how to draw on its past to imagine the equipment of tomorrow, capable of appealing to new generations of skiers, snowboarders and all-terrain riders.
By reviving the good vibes of the legendary 7S, this unusual project celebrates creativity and the pleasure of snow sports in all their forms. It is a vibrant nod to history, but one that is resolutely focused on the future.
