After two consecutive days of heavy snowfall, the Pyrenean resort of Cauterets is boasting optimum conditions for the start of the season. With 120 cm of fresh snow at the base of the pistes and up to 150 cm at the summit, snow lovers can look forward to a great start to the season.

The resort’s teams are working hard to guarantee an unforgettable experience for skiers and snowboarders. Thanks to their commitment, 80% of the ski area will be accessible from this Friday. Preparations include clearing accesses, securing pistes and grooming snow-covered areas.

The depth of groomed snow is impressive: 60 cm at the base and 80 cm at the top

This early opening is excellent news for the Christmas holidays, a key period for ski resorts. The recent snowfalls provide a solid base that should ensure optimum conditions are maintained over the coming winter holidays.
