The snow is coming before Christmas! On Saturday 7 December, Saint-Lary, the largest ski resort in the French Pyrenees, will officially open its slopes in exceptional conditions thanks to a fresh, soft and abundant layer of snow. This event marks the start of a promising season, in which Altiservice, the resort manager, has invested significantly to guarantee a unique experience for its visitors.
Since last weekend, the Altiservice team has been working intensively in the three sectors that make up the ski area: Pla d’Adet, Espiaube and Le Vallon. The snow groomers have been in constant motion, the ski lifts have been subjected to rigorous tests and the pistes have been groomed to the highest safety standards. With snow depths ranging from 70 cm at Pla d’Adet to 80 cm at the summit of La Tourette, the resort promises unforgettable descents.

To celebrate the start of the season, Altiservice is launching a special promotion for ski lovers who have been looking forward to this moment:

Modernisation and new experiences
The resort of Saint-Lary has undergone a major transformation thanks to the 25 million euros invested in recent years. Some of the most noteworthy new features include the new Tourette chairlift, which ensures a smoother flow of movement, and the incorporation of two ski mountaineering itineraries (Skimo) for fans of this discipline, with departures from the Bouleaux chairlift and a vertical drop of up to 600 metres.
In addition, the resort is continuing its commitment to sustainable development with the planting programme at Pla d’Adet, in collaboration with the ONF. This project, which began in 2021, aims to increase the biodiversity of the area by planting over 2,000 trees by 2024.
Events and experiences for all
Saint-Lary is also preparing for a series of major events, such as Garosnow, which will combine music and snow from 24 to 26 January 2025, and the European Snowboardcross Cup, from 28 January to 3 February. These events will consolidate the resort as a benchmark for sporting and cultural activities.
On the other hand, for visitors looking for a quieter experience, the Pla d’Adet new arrivals area offers modern facilities, ideal for learning to ski in a safe, sunny environment.
Beyond skiing: activities and gastronomy
Saint-Lary is not just synonymous with skiing, it also offers alternatives for those who want to enjoy the mountains in a different way. Visitors can explore the Snowalk and enjoy panoramic views from the Pic de Tourette, or enjoy a unique culinary experience at the Les Merlans high-altitude restaurant, located in the heart of the resort.
With these initiatives, Altiservice is reinforcing its commitment to innovation, sustainability and excellence, ensuring an unforgettable 2024/2025 season for skiers and visitors alike.
