Les Sybelles, the fourth largest ski area in France and one of the biggest in the world, will open its doors on Saturday 14 December 2024.
Located in the picturesque Maurienne Valley in Savoie, this interconnected ski area with 310 km of pistes offers a unique experience, combining modernity, authenticity and unrivalled scenery. To celebrate the start of the season, Les Sybelles organises the D’Sybelles Opening Festival, an event full of music, fun and exclusive promotions.
But if, as well as skiing, you enjoy events and entertainment after a good day’s skiing, you should know that from 14 to 16 December, the D’Sybelles Opening Festival will transform the Ouillon plateau (at an altitude of 2,431 m) into a stage for concerts and DJ sets. Artists such as Bon Entendeur, Adèle Castillon, Feder and Mosimann will liven up the day, while the public can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the Aiguilles d’Arves and Mont Blanc.
For this event, the ski area is offering ski passes at a reduced price of 29 euros per day, available online and at ticket offices.
And that’s not all. Get out your diary and make a note of the most special events you’ll find in Les Sybelles this season. For example, on 24 December, the magic of Christmas will be experienced on the Ouillon plateau, where Father Christmas will make a special appearance at the summit, creating an enchanting moment for young and old alike. On 31 December, the festivities continue with New Year’s Before, an exclusive open-air aperitif with free oysters while enjoying a spectacular 360° panorama of the mountains.
In January, gastronomy takes centre stage with the Giant Raclette, to be held on 19 January in a festive setting unique at altitude. Finally, on 10 February, the International Ski Patrollers’ Day will be held, a day of education and solidarity dedicated to the mountain professions, with workshops, demonstrations and events to bring participants closer to the fascinating world of alpine ski patrollers and rescuers.
