If you’re looking to stay on the cutting edge of the latest gear trends, you’re in the right place. In the world of telemark, having the right equipment not only improves your performance, but also enriches each descent with greater comfort and safety.
Before you set off to conquer new slopes by practising the art of the free heel, we think it’s important to remind you that proper physical preparation is key to getting the most out of this discipline. Strengthening your muscles, improving your endurance and increasing your flexibility can make all the difference in your performance and prevent injuries. Try to pay special attention to the muscles that are actively involved in telemark such as the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, calves and core muscles.
Also, if you are exploring equipment options you probably won’t be surprised to learn that Scarpa is one of the most experienced brands in telemark, remember the TERMINATOR that Scarpa released in 1992? You can still see riders on the slopes with that model that marked a before and after in the free heel technique. In any case, be sure to check out our guide to the best ski boot brands. Here you’ll find a selection of the top brands, including innovative boots from Scarpa that are sure to catch your eye.
Scarpa telemark boot innovation
SCARPA has just launched the new TX PRO, a real gem for those looking to take their snow experience to the next level. After 15 years of research and careful listening to the community, SCARPA has created the lightest and most versatile boot on the market. With a 12% weight reduction compared to its previous version, the TX PRO promises unparalleled freedom of movement when it’s time to put it in gear mode(62 degrees). Whether you’re a lover of the new generation of telemark or a free heel nostalgic, this boot will deliver exceptional performance. Join us as we go into the details.

What makes the new telemark TX PRO boot so special?
In addition to their light weight (only 1,545 g), we were very impressed by the “walking mode” they offer. They are very comfortable as they offer up to 62º when unlocked. SCARPA has used sustainable materials such as Pebax Rnew, derived from the castor plant, reducing the use of fossil fuels. The boot also features a thermoformable Intuition lining and an Ortholite footbed made from recycled materials, ensuring a warm and comfortable fit at all times.

Without a doubt, a boot designed not only to give it all in telemark, but also to take care of the planet. It is worth noting that although many brands of alpine ski boots have adopted the BOA fitting system, the truth is that it has not yet made its presence felt in the telemark modality. In this case, Scarpa has decided not to incorporate it yet in their telemark boots, neither in the TX PRO we are talking about today nor in the T1 compatible with 75mm bindings (duckbill). We have to wait. The brand continues to rely on traditional systems which, according to them, offer greater reliability and precision in extreme conditions. By the way, the Scarpa TX PRO has three adjustment hooks and is available for men (black and red colours) and women (black and blue colours).

This year, Scarpa raises the bar even higher with the latest version of its TX PRO telemark boots. Incorporating state-of-the-art materials and advanced technology, these new boots offer greater ergonomics and flexibility, allowing for more natural movements and reducing fatigue during long days in the mountains. In addition, the fit system has been improved, guaranteeing a perfect fit for each type of foot, which translates into greater comfort and performance.
The incorporation of these advances not only enhances the user experience, but also reinforces Scarpa’s commitment to quality and continuous innovation. These boots are designed to satisfy both beginners and more experienced telemarkers, offering versatility that adapts to different skiing styles and snow conditions.
About SCARPA
From the very beginning, Scarpa set itself the goal of bringing together the best shoemakers in the Asolo region (at the foot of the Dolomites and close to some of the most beautiful villages in Italy) to make the best shoes in the world. The brand was one of the first to create special shoes for mountaineering and climbing. The quality of its products was quickly recognised throughout Italy and spread all over the world. Mountaineers, explorers and soldiers from many countries used Scarpa boots for their most demanding ascents. Today, the new generation of the Parisotto family continues to produce innovative mountaineering boots.
