The resorts of Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís close a successful summer season, with a notable increase in visitors despite the weather challenges. The innovative proposals and the holding of key international events, such as the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships 2024, have been decisive in this success.

Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís record more visitors than in 2023

The three resorts of Grandvalira Resorts managed to attract more than 173,800 visitors up to 15 September, surpassing last year’s figure. Although bad weather affected the key dates, the extensive summer offer and mountain activities have confirmed the success of these resorts beyond the winter season.

The Tristaina Solar Viewpoint: a tourist magnet with 60,000 visitors

The Mirador Solar de Tristaina viewpoint has consolidated its position as the main tourist attraction in the Ordino Arcalís resort, with 60,000 visitors so far this summer. International competitions such as the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships were a key factor in attracting more than 57,700 visitors, 34% more than last year.

For its part, Golf Soldeu, the highest golf course in Europe, registered the participation of more than 42,100 people in the Mon(t) Magic Family Park and the golf course, improving on last year’s figures. This year, golf fans were able to enjoy a new driving range, which further enhanced the players’ experience.

Funicamp: a must for cyclists and hiking enthusiasts

The Funicamp, the longest funicular in Europe, closed the season on 1 September with almost 12,000 users, a significant number considering that it was open 15 days less than last year. This service is key to accessing the electric bicycle and hiking routes of more than 100 km, which have been extended this summer due to growing demand.

But Grandvalira Resorts is not only about adventure; it has also positioned itself as a high mountain gastronomic destination. Restaurants such as the Wine & Meat Bar by Jean Leon, the Refugi del Llac de Pessons and the Racó de Solanelles have offered exceptional culinary experiences, attracting tourists and locals alike. Over the coming weeks, some of these establishments will remain open, allowing visitors to enjoy the views and the typical dishes of the area.
