Ski clothing

If there is something very important and you cannot forget to pack in your suitcase is the ski clothing. You can choose to enjoy the snow wearing a jumpsuit or two pieces that are waterproof, comfortable and that fits your body without problems.

Thermal clothing is an essential

Forget about putting thousands of sweaters in your suitcase so you don’t get cold. If you decide to use thermal clothing, you will save a lot of space. In addition, they are more effective when it comes to maintaining our body temperature and besides, they dry faster.

Keep in mind that this kind of clothes will be in constant contact with your skin, so we advise you to take a few thermal shirts with you if you don’t want to have to wash your clothes during your ski trip.

Remember! Avoid cotton garments as this material dries very slowly and you will have a constant sensation of being wet.

Socks

Your feet will be eternally grateful if you put on your suitcase some good socks. It is almost inevitable that this part of the body ends up a little wet after a day skiing, so it is recommended that you always have a spare pair on hand for whatever happens.

By choosing the right kind of socks, you will have your feet warm, but also you will be more comfortable when wearing your ski boots, because they are hard and inflexible.

Ski goggles, straight to the suitcase

For us, skiers, ski goggles are a necessary thing when going to the snow. With them, you will be protecting your eyes from UVA rays and preventing the wind from getting in your eyes while going down the slopes.

If you want, you can also use sunglasses, but those are better for apreski on the hottest and sunniest days.

Gloves, a must for skiing

When it is cold, the extremities (specially fingers) are the parts that are most affected by the low temperatures. The best thing to avoid freezing is to use good gloves that will keep your hands at an ideal temperature.

Regardless of whether you are going to be skiing or snowboarding, it is best to choose gloves that resist the wind and waterproof.

Anti-covid mask

This winter, the ski slopes will be full of skiers wearing this accessory. This season it will be mandatory to wear a mask to wait in queues and at the ski lifts.

Of course, you can opt for the traditional surgical mask, which you should change every 4 hours or so. As we tell you in this post, and to facilitate the day-to-day of skiers, many brands have designed 2-in-1 collars. This kind of masks will both become protection against the new coronavirus and reducing the sensation of cold.

These “neck” masks incorporate a three-layer filter, achieving 98% bacterial filtration efficiency and maximum breathability for a filter mask. Thanks to their adjustment system, these new products are designed to be actively worn throughout the day!

Helmet

Safety is the most important thing when we do any kind of sport. Therefore, we recommend you to wear a helmet, regardless of whether you are learning or you are professional. It can be your biggest ally in case of suffering any falls while skiing. Put the helmet in the suitcase and don’t forget to put it on when you go skiing.

There are many types of helmets to choose. Choose the one with which you feel most comfortable and safe. Remember, safety is very important, so we advise you to invest in a good helmet.

Wool cap

While you are having fun in the slopes, the most important thing is definitely to use a helmet, but if you want to get some extra heat, the solution is to use woolen caps under your helmet.

However, for the apreski moments, you can wear other types of hats that are the trend. There are many varieties that you can use, but we recommend you to choose one that protects your ears and is windproof.

Apreski boots

Once you are off the slopes, you will need a pair of apreski boots. Do not forget to put them in your suitcase. Our recommendation is to choose waterproof boots so you can walk through the snow without getting your feet frozen.

Books and e-books, indispensable

The weather forecast is not always the best to enjoy the ski slopes. For this reason, it is advisable to take something with you that gets you entertained during those hours or days. A good book or an e-book may be your best partner to avoid getting bored and reading you can continue having adventures, even from the heat of your lodge.

A reusable bottle

As in all sports, hydration is a fundamental factor. Despite the low temperatures of the mountain, every skier knows the importance of staying well hydrated during a day of intense activity. It is essential to drink water constantly, even if you are not thirsty. On the contrary, when thirst arises, it does so as an alert mechanism in our body, informing us that dehydration has already begun.

To do this, a good solution may be to carry a reusable water bottle in our backpack. Choose an aluminum bottle that is more resistant (and especially more environmentally friendly) than a plastic bottle.

What cannot be missing in your vanity case?

Packing your toilet bag is as important as packing your favorite ski clothing. If you don’t have much space, we recommend you to include only the essentials: sunscreen, hand cream, some makeup accessories, and a lip balm to protect and hydrate your lips.

For minor ailments, temporary aches and pains, body aches, sunburns or sore throats, remember to take your usual medications: pain relievers, dressings, disinfectant, sunscreen, lip balm, etc.

Comfortable clothes for a walk

Don’t forget to pack your favorite outfit for a walk: an oversized sweater, skinny jeans, a loose-fitting t-shirt, warm socks, etc. After an intense day of skiing, you won’t be able to resist the pleasure of lying on the couch! This moment also has its essential codes and accessories: zen mode, total relax, a soft sofa or armchair, hot chocolate or tea… We love these moments!

Special clothes for special moments

To fully enjoy the magical après-ski moments, don’t forget to pack elegant clothes in your suitcase. Many ski resorts are also hot spots for après-ski: atmospheric bars, charming restaurants, nightclubs, etc. where you can show off your best outfits.

Some tips to organize your suitcase:

There are several organization methods that, with a few little tips, will not only allow you to have the perfect suitcase, but also will allow you to save space. Believe it or not, the traditional way of folding clothes into squares is not the most efficient. If you follow this method, you will not be taking advantage of all the space. You have two much better options for folding your clothes and storing everything:

  • Roll up instead of folding

If you roll up your clothes instead of folding them, it will take up less space and you will be able to pack even more clothes in your suitcase. For example, pants should be folded in half first and then rolled up. It is a perfect shape that will also help you prevent your clothes from arriving wrinkled.

  • Layer you clothes

Storing clothes in layers and then folding the ends is another great way to store clothes in your suitcase. It is as simple as it sounds: put the clothes in the suitcase flat (pants folded in half), with the ends sticking out of the suitcase. Layer your clothing, always making sure the part inside is taut. When you have everything stacked, fold the ends inward and store your socks, underwear, and shoes on the sides.

  • Think about what you are going to use first

This tip is sure to come in handy. Put what you are going to use on top of your suitcase first. If you arrive at night, you will only have to open up and take off your pijamas and slippers without dislodging the rest of the suitcase late at night.

  • Take several light bags with you

Whether it’s for underwear or children’s clothing, using individual bags will serve as organizers. On one hand, for children it will be easier to know what to wear. On the other hand, so that dirty clothes do not take up too much space, you can use vacuum bags, which are very practical if your suitcase is already full.

Now you are ready to prepare your travel suitcase. All you have to do is to enjoy your ski trip!
