Since September 2018, the ski resorts of Haute Garonne – Luchon Superbagnères, Le Mourtis and Bourg d’Oueil – have had their ski domain managed by the department of Haute Garonne under the creation of the Haute Garonne Mountain Mixed Syndicate

Launch of a first phase of investment

After a first winter season of installation, Georges Méric and the entire council have just launched the first phase of a vast investment program of more than 20 million euros for the modernization of the stations.

Starting this winter, customers of the Luchon SuperbagnèresLe Mourtis – Bourg d’Oueil stations will have the advantage of discovering a modernized and unified ticketing system for all the three stations.

This € 700,000 project allows Mourtis and Bourg d’Oueil stations to be a part of the hands-free system. It is a system that allows its customers to have a comfortable circulation on the slopes and a faster purchase.

The new ticket office also allows all stations to offer their customers a modern and dynamic commercial offer. In fact, with the introduction of numerous products that allow the client to ski “on demand”, the resorts are adapting themselves to new technologies and new consumer habits.

In addition, the homogenization of the system allows a simplified circulation in all areas of the Haute Garonne Montagne group.

Some figures regarding investments of the ticket offices:

  • Automatic installation for sales at the station: Four in Superbagnères and three in Mourtis. These ski pass selling machines help the skier avoid waiting lines at the moment of purchase.
  • Installation of porches and terminals: Three porches in Superbagnères and 10 porches in Mourtis, as well as 28 terminals in Superbagnères.
  • Installation of terminals for Bourg d’Oueil

A unified offer between Haute-Garonne stations to facilitate skiing for all

Parallel to this project, a real reflection was made on the prices. In order to offer a unified offer at all stations, the price list has been completely revised. All the stations of the group have the same offers according to age groups and the same products and discounts. These significant changes allow stations to reposition themselves from their competitors; but, above all, they create an offer adapted to the needs and desires of their customers.

In a true social approach according to the department’s policy, the stations are committed to making skiing accessible to all.

Therefore, children under 6 and people over 65 benefit from free access to all ski areas in the group. In addition, discounts have been created for unemployed people, as well as specific products for children from nearby towns to allow them to become the first ambassadors of the stations and thus discover, love and promote them when they grow up.

Finally, the last project established this winter concerns the modernization of the artificial snow network with a global cost of € 1,600,000.

After the meteorological difficulties of recent years, the snowfall in the stations is a real problem. Increasingly complicated and later than ever, it is important that the tourist centres take into account this component and find solutions to allow quality skiing for their customers from December on.
