The early opening of Val Cenis on December 7 was accompanied by major renovations, the result of a modernization process since 2007
In the middle of the Vanoise National Park, in the Northern Alps, there’s Val Cenis ski resort. No matter where the tourist comes from, this station can assure endless possibilities.
Thanks to its magnificent location in a strategic placement, close to both Switzerland and Italy, skiers enjoying their holiday in any of these countries can access from big cities like Lyon, Turin or Geneva to enjoy the wonderful mountains.
This season, which will run from December 7 until well into spring on April 17, brings innovations due to an investment of 20 million euros since 2018.
To celebrate the start of the new season, the station organized like every winter their opening party the 14th and 15th of December, gathering like every year around 5.000 people. In In this sixth edition of the event, the highlight of the evening was Charlie Winston’s concert.
New skiing facilities
Thanks to the investment the last two years in Val Cenis new installations where created, both technical and administrative.
The renovations have been made considering Val Cenis’ values in order to be a more environmentally friendly station. Therefore, a ski lift management system has been installed to reduce energy consumption. This measure will significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the slopes through greater energy efficiency.
Renovations in both the slopes and the rest of the ski resort have been made.
As part of an initiative in all Auvergne- Rhône-Alpes region, in Val Cenis the possibility of generating artificial snow has been reinforced. This guarantees a wide skiable domain under any weather circumstances.
The modernization of the sports stadium includes a new tunnel, designed to control the flow of skiers during competitions and training.
In the same manner, both a new teleski for the beginner section and a new chairlift to reach 2.000 meters in les tan 6 minutes have been added.
To ensure the skiers’ comfort the Met chairlift has been remodelled with new mats and more confortable chairs.
Thanks to new investments this year new services will be opening such as a snowpark, a dinning room and a new reception.
All-included accommodation and stay in Val Cenis
Val Cenis station collaborates with Travelski, the largest French Tour Operator, specializing in snow trips. Travelski offers a wide variety of tailored accommodations and packages, with the possibility of adding several options.
In particular, it offers the possibility of booking your ski lessons, your ski pass, opting for the full board or the catering service in the snow with the delivery of your food purchases and your packed lunches. It’s also possible to rent ski equipment.
To make holidays at this station the most comfortable, Travelski allows delivering the ski pass along with your room keys to avoid endless queues.
This station offers a wide range of luxury apartments in tourist residences or holiday clubs, as well as chalet rentals.
Val Cenis has invested about 50 million euros since 2007 to guarantee the best experience to its skiers, offering modern tracks with many things to bring to the table.
