The French Ski Federation (FFS) had an appointment with all its partners this past Monday, October 14th in Paris, for the official presentation of its athletes of Alpine Skiing.
At the beginning of October, all the disciplines of the FFS were represented in a day of meetings prior to the great presentation of the French team. In front of more than 400 people, including the partners of the teams of France and the Federation, the athletes had the opportunity to answer questions from the media and promote winter sports and the different disciplines in which they participate.
Michel Vion, president of the French Ski Federation, the directors of the teams, as well as all the athletes of the teams of France A, took the stage in front of all the guests, where more than 140 accredited journalists were counted.
A Federation that is experiencing a great reconversion, thanks to its president Michel Vion: Olympic in the 1984 Winter Olympics, world champion in combined Schladming and great manager of sports entities. Michel Vion has established within the French Ski Federation, a scientific and sports department, favoring the transmission of knowledge, the entity acting as a link between the scientific sector and the sports sector, sineod Fabien Saguez responsible for validating operations and studies to develop. Science and sport, go hand in hand in the FFS: this sports and scientific department nourishes relevant scientific information to the coaches, technicians, athletes and trainers of the FFS.
Presentation of the teams of France
Coming back to the presentation of the teams of France, on the men’s side, it is worth highlighting the Olympic ski medalists, the French athletes who climb the podium on a regular basis.
Alexis Pinturault and Martin Fourcade, who together add 7 Olympic medals, were without a doubt the great stars. The women on the other side were not far behind, shining with the presence of Perrine Laffont, acrobatic skiing, specialized in the bump test (the youngest French medalist in the history of the Winter Olympics). Tessa Worley, who has won 2 world championships, and no less than 11 Alpine skiing World Cup events – with a total of 20 podiums – was also present at this event that put the focus on France’s winter sports.
A day traditionally organized by and for the press, which has become for almost 15 years the meeting point of the French Ski Federation with its athletes and all its partners and collaborators.
