Who said skiing in the northern hemisphere is not possible during the summer? The opening season of the glaciers in France has already begun. This summer, you can go skiing or snowboarding to the glacier of Les 2 Alpes from June 22 to August 25. It will remain open every morning, from 7 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The practice of summer skiing in a glacier is a tradition in France since the 60s.

It doesn’t matter if you’re an athlete who needs to train during the summer, if you’re passionate about skiing and you still prefer the mountain to the beach or if you simply want to live a new experience and discover the sensation of sliding at a height of between 3,200 and 3,600 meters (10,500 – 11,810 feet) and in the middle of summer. The opening of the glacier is for everyone, with ski slopes and a snowpark.
The great height of the glacier, which you can access through the 12 ski lifts that will be available, ensures natural snow even in these particular dates, allowing us to go to the beach one day and then go skiing the day after. And in case you want to combine snow with mountain biking, the bike routes will open on the same day, on June 22, and they will remain open until August 31. In addition, from June 21 to June 23, the third edition of the Outdoor Festival, which will combine the disciplines of mountain biking, trail running, skiing, snowboarding and skateboarding, will take place in Les 2 Alpes.
The practice of summer skiing in glaciers is a tradition in France since the 60s. Other glaciers where you can ski in the summer season are those of Tignes, Alpe d’Huez and Val d’Isere. The latter opened its doors on June 8.
