The ski season comes to an end at the Peyragudes ski resort, in the French Pyrenees. Peyragudes will close its doors next Sunday, April 7, but it will leave a good sensation in the atmosphere, with great discounts and with a solidarity and festive day this Sunday, March 31. All solidarity activities of the day will be done in favor of the association Un Maillot pour la Vie.
What does 1 Maillot pour la Vie do?
Un Maillot pour la Vie is dedicated to raising funds for hospitalized children throughout France. The association offers moral support, dreams and hope to children who, unfortunately, have to spend their childhood in the hospital, as well as for their families. Their efforts are especially focused on trying to give these children the opportunity to enjoy experiences that allow them to forget about their treatments and have fun.
Un Maillot pour la Vie has a special relationship with sports, because, thanks to it, many high level athletes voluntarily visit children in the hospital to give them joy and, in the case of the little athletes, to fulfill their dream of getting to meet their idols.
The association also tries to get solidarity holidays for these children and their families and help them to disconnect and overcome the social and financial difficulties that derive from the disease. For all these goals, Un Maillot pour la Vie organizes all kinds of events, from sports tournaments to parties, exhibitions…

How the solidarity day will be in Peyragudes
On Sunday 31, for each day of skiing sold in Peyragudes, one euro will be donated to the association Un Maillot pour la Vie.
Among other activities that will take place in the various shops, there will be a tribute to rugby in the snow. At 2:30 p.m., a rugby on snow exhibition match will be played with the visit of great athletes. Later, at 4:15 pm, the quarter-final match of the Rugby European Cup, between Toulouse and Racing 92, will be followed live on multiple screens located in different parts of the resort.
Ideal conditions to say goodbye to the season in Peyragudes
Don’t be fooled by the fact that the resort closes its doors soon: its snow conditions are unbeatable. Peyragudes currently enjoys a snow depth of up to 110 centimeters (43 inches) at high levels and a minimum of 35 centimeters (14 in) at the bottom of the slopes, so it has been decided to leave it open for another weekend in April. The vast majority of its 49 tracks and 17 ski lifts are open, so you can descend through its broad area on the two sides of slopes of the resort: Agudes and Peyresourde.
Without a doubt, it will be a perfect day to enjoy skiing while being supportive enjoying the rest of the activities offered by the resort.
Attention, skiers! Peyragudes will open on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 April, with the happy-end week-end in which accommodation and ski passes will have a 30% discount, but it will remain closed from April 1 to 5.
