Traveling to the Alps during the winter is always a unique experience. The altitude, the landscapes, the traditions, the architecture… are accompanied by a wide range of leisure and activities so that, both those who ski and those who do not, can enjoy a dream vacation in the Alps.
The novelties of Châtel have not gone unnoticed; the new disengaged chairlift of Pierre-Longue has been the cherry on top on a fabulous product that allows you to travel skiing through the immense domain of Portes du Soleil. It is worth remembering the privileged location of Châtel and its varied connections with other ski areas such as Torgon, Morgins, La Chapelle d’Abondance and Avoriaz that allow us to ski in more than 300 slopes that feature some of the most modern ski lifts in the world.
If you love to ski but also enjoy new experiences in the mountains, you have probably found the appropriate destination. Beginning with the Cup of France of Potholes, on January 20, 2019, where the best skiers of France will descend the slopes at breakneck speed while performing impossible pirouettes in the air. A very spectacular discipline, that we assure you will remember all the life not only by the impressive jumps and demonstrations of skills on some skis but also by the fabulous atmosphere in this type of events.

Much more than skiing in Châtel

If you plan to travel to Châtel in January with children, you should not miss the “Explore & Ski” they have prepared in Châtel. The game, aimed at the little ones in the house but also at the adventurers, will be held on January 26 and 27 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Participants must find 10 points marked on the map that hide secrets and various prizes. Explorers can win a pair of Rossignol skis, a Playstation 4 and 4 ski passes for 3 days from Portes du Soleil. In addition, the price of the pass to participate in this event will be a cheaper 20 to encourage the participation of families and children.
