The arrangements made in the exit terminal of the Val Cenis gondola lift eliminate conflicts of use between skiers, pedestrians and services in the ski area.
Since last December 15th, skiers have been able to enjoy the launch of the season at the resort of Val Cenis, and the Tous en Piste event. These new facilities have also satisfied the 5,000 customers who went to try the snowy slopes of Val Cenis. “The first customers have greatly appreciated the comfort of the new cable car, but also the quality of the facilities designed and made for them. The lobby with many information screens, the wifi lounge, the platforms waiting at the station. The departure and arrival, the panoramic terrace overlooking the Vanoise massif have seduced all lovers of contemplative leisure!” Commented Yves Dimier, Director of Val Cenis.
Customer service at the ski resort of Val Cenis
The structure of the current departure station has been completely renovated, with easy access with ski boots and is comfortable to the parking lot. The lobby is functional and more accessible, especially for people with reduced mobility, a strong desire of Yves Dimier, Director of Val Cenis, to “always be more involved in the accessibility of ski areas and demonstrate social responsibility.” The skier will be happy to take this completely modernized ski lift.
Upon arrival, at 2,093 meters above sea level, you will enjoy a panoramic platform with a picnic area to enjoy the magnificent views offered by that place. Nature presides over this place, with the surrounding peaks and the Vanoise National Park as a backdrop. And if the outdoor picnic is not possible or if you prefer to be warm, all you need to do is try the new room located under the terrace of the restaurant.
Everything is designed to respect the environment in Val Cenis: the room will be heated thanks to a system for recovering energy from the cable car engine.

Optimization of the ski area.
In the ski area, the modernization of the Moulin gondola lift has led to better management of skier and pedestrian flows, with the Fema slope outside the gondola to access the Solert chairlift. Parallel to the construction of the cable car, the ski area took the opportunity to install a new ski lift from the Plan des Champs to create a new area for beginners and allow faster access to the Moulin gondola. In addition to these new infrastructures, the artificial snow network has also been reinforced with an extension of the production network and the installation of the latest generation of snow cannons. The resort of Val Cenis has traditionally benefited from the generous snowfall thanks to its exposure, its location at the bottom of the valley and its favorable fronts called “returns from the east” of the Mediterranean basin.

Despite the fact that innivation is not a problem for Val Cenis, this winter, thinking of a more gray future, decided to anticipate any deficit of natural snow, equipping itself with state-of-the-art equipment to offer snow guarantee in the most exposed connections or return zones.
