Located near the Italian-French border, Montgenevre, the most Italian of the French ski resorts opened its slopes last weekend. Three ski lifts (the Télémix, the Chalmettes, the button tow of the Clot and the magic Carpet the Butte) were open and skiers could access the entire domain and enjoy 400 meters of vertical drop.
Thanks to the work of the technical team of the resorts, especially the one of the Regie of the ski lifts, the ski resort Montgenèvre featured four slopes, covered with snow, doomed and sunny: la Crète, le Lac, les Mélèze and la Durance (the higher part).
Additional featured will probably be opened in the next days; more slopes open every week, the season has begun! The quality of the snow is excellent: a mix of fresh snow and high quality man-made snow!
Among the first skiers of the winter season in Montgenèvre, Olivier de la Vallée added: “the work of the Regie of the ski lifts has been very successful as for dooming and snow making. Skiing this early in the year is a real pleasure even if only four slopes are open”. Myriam who came from Marseille especially for the opening was very satisfied: “it is sunny, and enough slopes are open to begin the season”.
For this very special opening, the cost of the ski pass was lower than usual: 14 euros for the day and for all.
