This year, Peyragudes launches Spassio By Valnéa, the first relaxation resort with thermal waters in the French Pyrenees, located in Loudenvielle, in the Peyresourde side. This new SPA resort in Peyragudes will open in the course of December 2014. It will be able to receive up to 80 people for an unforgettable moment of relaxation at the foot of the slopes.
Among the novelties, you’ll also find Vanéa, the new high standing residence located at the foot of the slopes, which opens this year, offering 42 apartments with all the necessary facilities (restaurant, sport shop, tea room, Spassio By Balnéa…).
In order to ease access to information and reservation, the ski resort of Peyragudes now has a new website. This is a new way to reserve a stay in a residence, to buy ski passes online, or else reserve others activities proposed by “La Maison de peyragudes”. This website also proposes the entire offer of personalized stays, that is marketed by the N’PY group.
Peyragudes presents this winter a free and marked cross-country trail
Moreover, Peyragudes presents this winter a free and marked cross-country trail, which is divided in two sections from the car park located at the foot of the slopes in Peyresourde. The first section, which is also available for snowshoeing, enables to reach the mountain restaurant “La Cabanou”. The second section leads cross-country skiers to the summit of the ski resort, the “Crête d’Aube” at 2400m of altitude. This will fully satisfy the aficionados of this booming activity.
This season, among the important events, the ski resort will welcome the European Snowboard Cross Cup, which will stand from February 6th to 8th 2015, in collaboration with the Pyrenees Snowboard Tour and the “Fédération française de Ski Alpin” (French Alpine Ski Federation). The champions, who come from everywhere in Europe, will compete on a boardercross set for the occasion on the bottom of the ski resort so that everyone could enjoy this breath-taking event.
Besides, there also will be a day dedicated to the protection of the snow leopard, a threatened species that lives in the mountains in Central Asia. The principle is simple: each participant has to do the biggest difference in elevation possible while cross-country skiing on a marked trail. This difference in elevation will then be converted in Euros (1 meter = 1 centime of Euro), and the money thus collected will go to the association Snow Leopard Trust that works for the protection of this animal.
“King of the Day”
Finally, it will be in Peyragudes that the title of “King of the Day” will be awarded during the N’PY Cup finale, on March 14th and 15th 2015. This event marks the ski resort as well by its innovative character as by the conviviality it creates. During this festive week-end, there will be 4 highlights: a sportive part open to all to try the banked slalom and admire the acrobatics of the riders on the Big Air; a “Village Test” area to try the latest ski and snowboard equipment; a “Fooding” area to eat local and original products; and finally a night party with a famous DJ.
Once again this year Peyragudes will perfectly mix innovative services, modern equipment and ever more exciting events.
