La Plagne is a skiing area of French Alps, located in the department of Savoie, which includes 225 kilometres of ski hills and 100 km2 of skiable area reached a maximum altitude of 3250 metres. Since 2003, La Plagne constitutes with the neighboring skiing area of Arcs the Paradiski’s domain. There is a nice but decreased glacier : the Chiaupe, near of Bellecôte which lets you imagine of the ice valley of ancient times. Actually there are 10 smaller resorts within the resort of La Plagne. There are 6 altitude resorts (Aime la Plagne, Belle Plagne, Plagne Villages/Soleil, Plagne Bellecôte, Plagne Centre et Plagne 1800), all situated right at the foot of the slopes, interlinked free of charge from 8 am to midnight, which allows car free holidays. There are also four village-resorts (Champagny en Vanoise, Plagne Montalbert, Montchavin et Les Coches), which allow to reach the whole ski area. Finally you can discover 3 atmospheres : the valley proposes a situation that provides easy access, the villages offer authenticity and user-friendliness, and the altitude atmosphere encourages dynamism and sport. The skiing area offers adapted ski hills for all tastes with 15 black ski hills (expert level), 30 red (advanced level), 72 blue (medium level) and 20 green as well as a big territory of off-piste which include the north face of Bellecôte. La Plagne is a modern skiing area thanks to the Vanoise Express. It links skiing areas of La Plagne and Arcs inaugurated in 2003, it can reach 40 km/h through 8 cable cars and 36 comfortable ski lifts. You can also enjoy Bobsleigh’s ski hill where expert skiers go down the ice ski trail with sleds full speed. This ski hill has been built for Albertville’s Olympic Games in 1992 and it’s still an area of curiosity for visitors. La Plagne’s skiing area offer a multitude of activities after skiing including go-kart on ice, sledge rides pulled by horses, paragliding and an ice cave built in the glacier in which you can see ice sculptures of animals. Paradiski’s domain is unique and represented by the spectacular Vanoise Express : a cable car of 2 floors which crosses the valley on one kilometre allowing to join La Plagne but also Arcs and to enjoy a skiing resort of a big variety and beauty.
