Glenshee Ski Center (Glen of the Fairies in Gaelic) is one of the broadest stations of Scotland. It is situated right in the center of Scotland, in the Aberdeenshire and in natural area of Cairngorm National Park, the closest resort being The Lecht, at the North West of the park. To access the station, you can take the A93 toward Braemar or Blairgowrie, and leave your car in the 2000-parking-capacity car park down the station. As for Glenshee ski center, it is one of the widest ones with 36 runs covers in three different valleys and four mountains. The first one is the Glas Maol (1068 m), it is situated at the far end of the station and provides 2 black and red slopes. Do not miss a 2-kilometer-long slope, the longest one of the station! The second mountain is Meall Odhar, it is wide and ideal for off-piste experiences, you can even ski on two sides of the mount, it is quite a unique site! Then the central valley provides gentle slopes, ideal for beginners with 6 green slopes in one valley. It is also the place to be for eating or just taking a hot chocolate right in the center of the station. The main facilities are down this valley with the ski school, the snowboard school, the car parks, the emergency center and two cafes. The other mountains are Cairnwell, with red and black slopes and Carn Aosda. The Snowpark of the station is situated in between, in Bitchart’s Coire where more experience skiers can test their Freestyle abilities. All in all, the resort has 36 run for all levels of skiers and 22 lifts. It is developing ski touring, a demanding activity which implies going up and down the mountain with your skis, this snow sport gives access to untouched valleys in fresh powder snow, out with opening time. Lastly the resort hosts competitions every year such as the Skimo Scottish Skiing Race, the Go Euro or organized the World Snow Day with Free Tickets for Junior.
